Parent: My oldest son graduated from SLS 2021 & he continuously states that he feels prepared for college. He attends a Catholic University and he continues to engage in the study habits he learned at SLS. He knows how to delegate his time & workload all because of his experience at SLS. He said he would do it all over again in a heartbeat! As a parent I thought the traditional high school education setting was going to be fitting, but my son saw all that he could benefit from SLS and insisted on going. My two younger sons also saw how much SLS was a benefit for their future & made the choice to attend. I have 1 SLS graduate & 2 son's currently attending SLS (c/o 2023 & 2025) . I love the brotherhood these young men have! The one thing in life people overlook is the aspect of faith building, & SLS will prepare these young men for all of life's challenges. Senior: The best part of my Xavier education has been the teachers. They genuinely care for their students and put in countless hours to provide us with relevant information. They are the main reason that I have decided to pursue a career in education. Additionally, Xavier prepares students for life beyond high school by incorporating faith into our daily routine. This is incredibly important, as the high school and college years are crucial to self-discovery. The academics at Xavier are challenging because they are college-preparatory, but I have always enjoyed that aspect. If I could improve Xavier, I would make it more manageable to be involved in honors classes, music, languages, and extra-curricular activities. I have always enjoyed being involved in my school activities, but I've found it increasingly challenging over the past few years. I'm so proud of what I've accomplished in my time at Xavier. Senior: One aspect of St. Mary Catholic High School that I really enjoyed throughout my time here was the personal connections that you are able to have with teachers. The teachers here were always so willing to assist me with anything I needed, particularly my math teacher. She encouraged students to come in to receive help as much as possible, whether that be before school, after school, or during her one off period during the day. She would never turn a student away. Another aspect of St. Mary's that I really liked was the faith aspect. Religion classes are required credits here, and weekly mass is mandatory for all students. Senior: I've had a great time at Kimberly in my 4 years, and I think it's because of the people. I've had teachers that have genuinely changed my life. For example, my gym teacher for the past 3 years, has given me a new perspective on life and has always believed in me. I also have become involved in my school in numerous ways, so it makes sense why I've had such a good time here. However, there are some things that I would change. For example, we have something once a month called CP (career planning). I feel that the break out sessions for juniors and seniors can sometimes be helpful, but freshman and sophomores don't have a beneficial experience at all in my opinion. It's a lot of picking classes, but in my experience, we just sat there in silence while the CP teacher asked us the same questions each time. Alum: As an alum and a student in college, I feel as though the best part of Neenah High School is how prepared I felt coming into college. Neenah's block scheduling and AP classes really prepared me for the work load for college. I would, however, like to see some more various sports at Neenah. A lot of the budget is dedicated to the football team, so many other sports get overlooked. For example, Neenah does not have a cheer or dance team, which might help promote their somewhat lacking school culture and atmosphere. Sophomore: I have been going to Lourdes since 6th grade and I am now entering sophomore year. My experience at Lourdes has been great. The teachers are willing to help you through anything, and are very kind and understanding. I have never had any experiences with bullying nor have I heard any stories about bullying. Lourdes Academy staff keeps their school a safe place and feels like home to everyone. Everyone loves the music program because whether you are in band or choir, every four years our choir and band class takes a spring break trip to Florida and it is a great experience.... Senior: St. Mary's Springs has been a part of my life since I can remember. I was consistently held accountable for my learning and in result, found great success at the institution. The culture was one that encouraged kids to become involved, whether it be with academics, sports, clubs, volunteering, etc. The teachers genuinely cared about my progress, and with the small teacher to student ratio, I could find the help I needed. With a newly built and renovated school, the facilities have been top notch. They incorporated an engaging environment with safety to make an incredible area to learn. While the food may not be gourmet, there is always an option, no matter your preferences. New administration this year has made communication between the student body amazing. Senior: Overall I had a very good experience with the Little Chute Career Pathways Academy. I though the teachers were very dedicated towards the students sucess and emphasized grit within each student. The school is a charter school of sorts, so the students are able to take both the academies classes but also some of the regular high school classes. I loved how everything was mostly self paced in my charter classes. It has better prepared my for my college level classes as well as my AP classes. The personal connections I have mad with my teachers have also been a positive throughout my high school career and I have always felt prioritized by my school. The downfall that I have with my high school, is I wish I had more options towards classes that are meant for my future. Senior: I like the faith based curriculum and the opportunities the school provides to serve and learn outside of school hours. The teachers are always willing to help, whether with assignments or applying to colleges, and you can tell they genuinely care about their students. The administration could work on communication (both with students and parents) as there have been a few occasions where instructions have been unclear, but overall they do a good job coordinating students between two different campuses and ensuring that everyone is succeeding. Parent: I attended WLA and 4 of my children have graduated from there with the 5th still attending. My oldest went to Michigan Tech for Civil Engineering and was well prepared for the rigorous course work while many of his classmates that had all 4.0s in high school struggled or even dropped out. Many were unprepared for the regular homework assignments and difficult projects. Another son is in the Marine Corps, another is a Welder, and the 4th will learn to be an electrician. Whatever your children's post high school goals WLA will prepare them well, but most importantly, with daily chapel and religion classes, it will prepare them for the next life too.... Junior: Hortonville High school is the best school that I've attended! The teachers show passion and excitement for their jobs, while the staff work day in and day out to make the experience of a Hortonville polar bear excellent. Junior: The staff at North High School is on both ends of the spectrum. There are the nice ones and the ones who have something against the students. The sports here are okay nothing really special except for boys basketball. The classes are fun to take but the homework levels in all of the core classes are hard to handle. The communities program which is only at North is a great program to get to know people and its a new way to learn about social studies, literacy, and leadership. Senior: In high school, I've been involved in various clubs, including Key Club, DECA, Philosophy Club, Student Leadership Program, Link Crew, National Honors Society, and more. I am lucky to be at Appleton East and participate in these clubs. Academically, I have also been able to challenge myself by taking difficult courses such as AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, and AP U.S. History in my Junior year. With the variety of AP classes, honors classes, and dual credit classes held at Appleton East, I know I can be prepared to go into College. And of course, being a part of sports teams like volleyball and tennis has been a highlight, keeping me active, and competitive also displaying my leadership roles such as being a captain.
