Sophomore: Overall, I think Benicia High School is a great school. Many of the teachers there are very friendly and easy to talk to. I also find that many of the teachers at my school work hard to make sure we are learning all the important information we need to, with some teachers going above and beyond. Benicia High School is a very inclusive school, that is anti-discriminatory and welcoming of all types of peoples. Not only the staff are welcoming, but I would say that the kids who attend Benicia High School are for the most part, pretty chill people. I wouldn't say there is too much bullying, nor very defined cliques. One thing that I find negative about Benicia High is the vaping and smoking problem. Parent: St. Patrick-St. Vincent is an amazing place to be! I like the school because it has a close community, a college-prep environment, friendly faculties and staffs that encourage your student to be involved. The school also has an Augmented Reality Sandbox, which is a great tool for my kid who is interested in geology. And my kid also participates in the instrument class to develop his interest. Senior: I've been here for a few years and I have to say that personally my experience here has been great. I've made some friends and gotten closer with some people over these past few years and have even made and strengthened connections and reconnected with some amazing people that I feel I'll be around for hopefully the rest of our lives, and I love and care for them so much. I've been able to trust some of the teachers here more than my own parents and I feel like my voice matters. Being here makes me feel safe emotionally and physically and I've learned things here that I'll carry on with me for a really long time, and a lot more than just academically. Of course its not at all perfect, but I feel like we're slowly improving, and with time I think we'll get to a way better place to be. Sophomore: Vanden is an amazing school in terms of academics and sports. We have many programs to excel in academics including AP and Honors courses, and extracurriculars such as Robotics and Academic Decathlon. Additionally, we were the 2022 California State Champions in football and have continued to statewide playoffs and sectionals for many other sports. My favorite part of it all is the student council and leadership! They put on amazing events and have stayed resilient in times of covid restrictions that resulted in many of our events being cancelled or postponed. Niche User: I put 2 children all the way through the school and have never regretted the decision to send them to Vacaville Christian Schools. Both received an excellent Christ centered education, both had a plethora of great opportunities to play sports, be a part of the music department, participate in student government, joined clubs, and made incredible friends. Their teachers were amazingly connected to the students. They genuinely cared about who my children were and who they were becoming. I loved the feeling of partnership with the school. The bottom line was my children were well prepared for life because of their time at VCS. Both attended great universities and both are enjoying wonderful careers in tech industries. Freshman: Not only am I apart of Angelo Rodriguez High School but I'm proud to also be apart of their separate early college program. Although school isn't on direct mustang territory, considering I'm mainly on the Solano Community College's campus, my experience with school held events by Rodriguez are marvelous. They bring the two schools together and it's as if there was no separation in schools. The teachers are tremendously patient when teaching students and are considerate of students needs. As for the community of students here at ECHS (Early College High School) they're very accepting and everyone eventually gets to know each other it seems! ECHS's environment as a whole is so comforting, like a family, which really makes you feel apart of the program. Additionally, the school provides so many opportunities to seek help whether it's with school work or counseling; looking for community service; helping obtain scholarships like these, and so much more! Senior: Will C. Wood is an amazing high school! I have spent nearly my entire experience of high school there, with more time to come as my Senior year (I'm still attending as a Senior year begins. In my experience, the leadership programs are amazing and genuinely engage the students with their schools, creating a wonderful community. This includes the sports and clubs as well! Any student can create any club they desire with the only restriction being that is school-appropriate. I was a very shy kid my first year of high school but as I spent more time at Will C. Wood meeting new people and doing new things I grew into a leader and strong member of the community. With extracurriculars aside, the classes are great. Senior: The thing I loved most about Ernest Kimme is how flexible the classes and schedules were. They had countless courses (especially electives) that you could take online if you wanted to do the work at home. Works Here: This school has had major challenges over the last few years, including issues with their buildings and facilities; however, the new administrative team is skilled, caring, and responsive. The school is much safer and has a much more positive environment than most Vallejo schools. This year, they have repaired all their current buildings, and have plans to build all new buildings over the next 2 years. The staff cares a ton about the students. The school facilitates enrollment in college classes so that students can earn college credit while they are still in high school. The school also pays for the first college application to a university for all seniors. The class sizes are small, and staff know the students well. Senior: I came to Dixon High School after being homeschooled and I was easily able to find friends. Dixon High School is a diverse school and I believe that anyone can find a friend here. Our school provides many different courses such as AP/honors classes, agriculture classes, computer science, graphic design, and more. The only department that is lacking is our foreign language department, as they only provide Spanish classes. I have also noticed that the administration and counselors tend to get frustrated with parents who simply want to be involved in their child's education. My mom has emailed my counselor, asking to set up a meeting, and my counselor never responded. In the case of incidents at school (not intruder related), administration gets frustrated with students for texting or calling their parents about the issue. Senior: My experience at Rio Vista High School was great, I had a complete change in academics, personality and just myself as a person in general. Thanks to the staff mostly our consolar, Alduenda. She along with the avid teacher taught us so much about college and the avid teacher was as well the English teacher and she for sure got us prepared for college. The staff gave so much support to everyone ! Regardless of anything the staff was there and helped anyone through their struggles. All the teachers take time to help student outside office hours. After schools they would host college workshops and sometimes during school hours they would provide the reading and writing workshops. Students helped other students in what they were struggling and that was a good way to socialize. The clubs there were also all very supportive, I myself was vice-President of the Acts if Random Kindness club, this club would find ways to spread kindness through the high school. Alum: Fairfield High gave me many memorable experiences. Those I share with many staff and students. Senior: Teachers are excellent and actually interact with students and listen to them very attentively. The college preparation is through the roof. They dedicate one class every Wednesday to doing a college prep class. There are not many after school programs, there is a sewing class which we'll do a special project where we donate to children who don't have blankets. There's also a few clubs and tutoring, but not much in that category. We also have a nursery there for young pregnant mother's which is very nice. Senior: In all my years at this school, I don’t recall ever seeing any bullying happen, and it’s been a sigh of relief for someone who has had issues with bullies in the past. I love the atmosphere and school spirit, and everyone is generally very friendly. The band program is very important to me, who’s been in band since 3rd grade, and it has kept me going through the pandemic as of recent. All school events like rallies, sports games, cultural celebrations, etc. are all very inspiring and build a sense of community.
