Junior: Anacortes has all the right tools and resources readily available for any eager student willing to work hard and succeed. As an approaching alumni, I have found that Anacortes has truly set me up for success in a multitude of different areas of study to further my education at the university of secondary school level. It does require as a student to seek out these opportunities and to really get the most use out of them but, they're available nonetheless. I wish I could say academics were the only factor to consider when rating a school. The environment is often harsh with an underlining unhealthy vibe. I wish I felt that as a student body we were all connected as one and felt appreciated but, often that's not the case. Senior: I liked that this school was so supportive and felt like a very open enviroment. The bullying level is no where near the other schools I have attended, in fact I'd say there's hardly any at all. There is definitely drama, but every high school has some! I love the teachers, and the rest of the staff is just incredible. The sports to the theatre arts is honestly the best in the area! I would recommend this school to anyone interested in attending!... Senior: I love the diversity and variety of hands-on classes and medical classes within the school. And the amount of advanced classes there are to prepare kids and challenge them for college is amazing. It is very easy to do well in school as long as students put in the effort, communicate with their teachers, and advocate for themselves. The teachers, staff resources, and general staff really want to see students succeed and they always help students find the answers they are looking for when it comes to colleges, career options, running start, and so much more! The staff at the high school are all there to help set students up for success and they really do care about the student body as a whole. Senior: As a senior at Mount Vernon High School, I have mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, I appreciate the diverse student body and the supportive teachers who are always willing to help. However, I feel that the school could improve in several areas. For instance, the facilities are old and outdated, and there are not enough extracurricular activities that cater to a wide range of interests. Additionally, I believe that the school could do more to prepare students for college and the workforce. Niche User: This program has been awesome for my student. He's happy, learning, and has great relationships with the teachers and students. The student really support each other! Sophomore: Mount Vernon Christian School is an experience that I am grateful, and honored to have. The environment is different than anything I've ever been around, from the kindness of the students, to the openness of the teachers. In class, the teaching techniques that are used have helped me to reach a higher level of understanding when it comes to learning about God, culture, equality, justice, and so much more. The students are attentive and the lessons are fun. Because of the specific Christian environment I work in everyday, I have to learned to better understand the words of the bible and strengthen my relationship with God. If you were to ask me how ready I felt for college at my previous school, I would have said almost not at all. Now, though, I feel confident in my work because of the way we are forced in our assignments and lessons to think deeper with a maturity that I have not seen enforced in other schools.... Alum: The school provides a good environment for learning and dozens of extra-curricular activities after school. The quality of teaching from teacher to teacher may vary and events that are ran by the Student Council and other clubs can range from great to bad, which is why I can't give this school 5 stars. I cannot rate the cafeteria food since I brought my own lunch, but I can say that it's the same standard meals that every other high school serves. The school does not have any sports teams that compete. What they do have are clubs for those sports that don't compete against other high schools.... Read 2 reviews
