Senior: The best parts about Central are probably the traditions and opportunities. Central has been around for a few decades and has a rich history with a proud list of colleges that graduates have attended. Central also provides plentiful opportunities, whether it be for sports, clubs/hobbies, academics, etc. Whatever you wish to do, teachers, administration, and your peers will support you through it. The enrichment and preparedness I absorbed while attending Central is something I wouldn't get attending other schools in my county/district. The worst part might be the diversity; however, the diversity has improved greatly in the past 2 years. Junior: I have been going to Blackman High School for almost three years now. I have noticed the good as well as the bad. The best part of this school is the community surrounding sports and people themselves. We take care of each other and the team aspect is like having another family. The worst part would be some teachers and their approach to teaching. Some are not very "hard", especially in math, making it difficult to grasp some concepts when they aren't pushed a little bit more. I would like to see changes in funding and resources. A lot of the school's money is poured into the football program, but I feel as though we as students would benefit more if that money was put towards resources and lessons, and maybe even updated facilities.... Senior: I love PCA for many different reason, but just like all other schools, there is room for improvement. This school was started in the late 90s and has grown nonstop. We recently added a brand new building for high school, and we are currently in the process of building new sports facilities. I love my school because it is built around faith and family. All the teachers and faculty genuinely enjoy getting to know their students, and our student body truly is one big family. Of course there are conflicts just like anywhere else, but because of the strong foundation PCA has given us, we know how to resolve any issues and be even stronger than before. I have found people here that I know have made me better, and will continue to make me better, long after I graduate. Has my experience been perfect? Senior: Throughout the last four years at Oakland High School, I have made long life friends and developed connections with a few of my teachers. Oakland is going through construction right now to make it a safer school by allowing kids to travel to their next class without having to walk outside. The construction has made walking to a couple of my classes take the full 10-minute transition period. I wish they would have started the construction after this year, so I did not have to have my senior year look like this. However, I am happy they are doing the construction to better the safety of the school and the kids that will attend in the future. Freshman: Riverdale High School is one of the best parts of my high school experience. I was able to obtain high grades in my classes, make so many new friends, become more social, and become more happier since middle school. Middle school was full of bullies and horrible people along with the staff not caring about me. I have struggled during middle school with insecurities, anxiety, and depression. However, as soon as the first day of high school started, my worries have disappeared. I had gained so many friends and joined multiple clubs. It helped myself gain my socialness back! The staff is amazing at what they do and care about problems within the school and they have amazing teachers who are willing to teach! I also felt like they put me in the right classes since I was abe to understand but also having challenges at the same time. Junior: There are many great experiences I have obtained at my school. Firstly, the community is like no other. Our school upholds and performs their motto, "One Team" very well. It really does feel like we're all in it together. Secondly, the school is very diverse which I love. While walking down the hallway, I overhear many different languages being spoken. It also gives me a chance to learn about many different cultures and religions. I think that is an important factor for a school. However, where there's great things, there are of course some downsides. First off, I feel as though I am not completely informed about all of the "after high school" options. Senior: My experience at Rockvale high school has had a poignant effect on my life these past four years. Although there are many things I wish were different there are many I am glad I was able to be a part of. I ab very gracious of the commitment the faculty has for their students well-being. Most of my teachers have done their best to help me succeed as much as possible. Track and field by far has fulfilled me the most through my high school experience. Many great friendships and memories were built through the four years I had done the sport. My only regret would be not taking advantage of my freshman year due to being a distanced learner. Parent: MTCS is a community! You are welcome to get involved as much or as little as you choose. They always give back to the county, prepare students for their future and the guidance department is phenomenal helping seniors! There are plenty of opportunities for students to excel in academics as well as sports. Many dedicated teachers and coaches to support your childe while fostering important relationships to glorify the kingdom of God. Both of my children attend the school and we could not be more pleased! The growth the school has earned recently is a result of Murfreesboro being such a good place to call home! Junior: My experience at LaVergne High has overall consisted with good academics and diversity. The school is one of the most diverse in the county. However, the school administration should listen more to students about our concerns regarding certain teachers. Parent: Franklin Road has a very safe campus. In general, the teachers have a heart to see each student grow spiritually and academically. A graduating student would be well prepared in English and Math. Science is probably the weakest area of study at the school. As with all schools, sports can breed a negative environment. All in all, this is a great school for parents wanting a safe, conservative, spiritually enriched environment.
