Alum: I had a wonderful experience at Thetford Academy. Being at a small school of just about 300 students gave me the opportunity to form close bonds with the school's students, staff members, and my soccer and basketball coaches and teammates. When I struggled with an assignment it was easy to contact my teachers and receive prompt feedback or schedule a meeting. The same was true for my advisors and counselors, making annual school administrative tasks and the college application process much swifter than they might have been at a larger school. It was enjoyable to be at a school with such a strong sense of community where "everyone knows everyone." Thetford Academy also put a strong emphasis on outdoor activities. The school has a beautiful mountain view, incredible soccer fields and walking/running trails, and is surrounded by one of Vermont's state forests. I believe this was beneficial to students' mental health and well-being and I am very thankful to have attended school here.... Read 49 reviews

Senior: Oxbow is a smaller school, which makes classes smaller so you establish a close relationship with your teacher, so they know your personality, and learning styles, making it easy to learn and succeed academically. One of the challenges of this school, like many others is the lack of high standards and discipline. Many times the same distracting students rob students of their learning and don't get into enough trouble to where they stop. Alum: My experience at Williamstown Middle High School was good. I found it pretty easy to make friends. Most of the teachers are very helpful and openly communicate. They are always there when you need extra help or even just need to talk. Most of the teachers tried to make class fun in order to maintain attention. Sophomore: Randolph Union High School implements teaching methods that are very individualized and thoughtful toward student ability and interest. There is a lot of hands-on learning and options to do projects individually or in groups that I enjoy. However, I would like to see better responses from teachers and administration on issues of racial inequality and justice when students speak out about the problematic behavior of students or teachers in our school. It seems that teachers and administration do not always have student safety and comfort as their top priority when responding to these issues and they do not respond in an equitable manner that caters toward the victim.... Alum: MOST AMAZING SCHOOL EVER. I'm not exaggerating when I say this. I came here not knowing what to expect but I got the best. I got a full scholarship because I wasn't able to afford to go, so they worked with me to make sure I was able to go in the first place. Upon my arrival, I didn't know anyone, but as the days went on, the students and faculty there really made it feel like home. They're all very amazing people, outgoing and encouraging, and made me into the best version of myself. I became a lot more social, I was an introvert when I got there, but now I'm a half introvert and half extrovert. Everything I do is just more enjoyable now. I loved the amazing campus and my dorm, and I really miss it now that I have graduated. I've always had fun at the school, even in class sometimes, and the teachers are really considerate of your situation and help assist you in any way possible. There are so many things I cannot include, but it's truly been a spectacular experience. Go if you can.... Read 15 reviews
