Alum: Throughout my years at Clear Lake High School, I had many ups and downs. The teachers were a majority of it. Most of the teachers there are excellent and care about their students and their success. However, there are a few that seemingly are there just to make the lives of many 14-15 year olds incredibly difficult. Hands down the best part of Clear Lake High is the band program. The teacher of the program works incredibly hard and teaches students from 6th grade til 12th if they stick through with the program. Personally, I did band for 6 years and they were some of the most fun times I have ever had. The energy was always incredible and the lessons were always unique, even through all six years. Overall, Clear Lake High School is a fair place for students to learn and grow, and I would definitely recommend if you would like your child to have access to help from their teachers personally.... Senior: I've gone to KEC since it has opened and it's a great school. It has an amazing college program for the high school where you can take college classes at the local community college that is next door when you would normally be taking high school elective classes and the classes count for elective credits.... Senior: We have one of the best Ag programs and many of the kids that go to the school compete in state rodeo tournaments. Our sports programs, most notably Varsity Football, Cross Country, Girl's Soccer, and Track are outstanding. The academics are good and a good portion of the students graduating in 2020 are going to 4-year universities. Other extra-curricular activities that should be recognized are the Mock Trial team, the robotics team, the Leadership Class, and the Drama Club. Over the 4 years I have attended, these clubs have gotten many awards and the students are passionate about what they do. Besides all these achievements, student life at MHS is amazing. Students here make great relationships with their teachers and school spirit is out the roof! It is EXTREMELY rare to see bullying or fights, everyone is accepted and there are not really any stereotypes. Junior: Lower Lake High has its pros and cons, however, I have had an overall good experience with Lower Lake High. We are popular for our sports, and in general, I don’t want to harshly make a poor name for a school that I’ve never had a major issue with. There are some issues with discriminatory staff members, and in the past, I’ve worked with many students on changing our school’s policies on discrimination and other simple yet wrongful rules such as “No Headwear” (this including many headwears that are prominent parts of certain ethnic cultures). However our school is only improving by the day, and I hope to make a better name for this school by being one of the many students who are now being pushed towards college in our Upward Bound program....
