Lakeside High School

Senior: I would like to see change in the way problems are dealt with in Lakeside High School. They are moving forward tremendously with their new Restorative Justice program which is phenomenal to see the impact they have on the students. However, specifically the senior counselor, should be doing better. We used to have an incredible senior counselor, but sadly she retired. The new counselor, who has been a counselor for many years now isn't struggling, but is not productively communicating with her students. Seniors are struggling through their final year of high school with minimum knowledge of what the future holds for them. This counselor has not informed us of any scholarship information or any college information to be quite frank. This entire situation is frustrating, but because of the overwhelmingly helpful Lakeside teacher community we are getting information from our Math, English, and even arts teachers.

Senior: I couldn't have chosen a better school to attend for 13 years. Lake Hamilton has always made me feel at home and the staff has never failed to make me feel like family. From kindergarten to senior year I have made memories that'll last a lifetime; from cheering on my wolves to helping the primary students with arts and crafts. Our amazing academic programs are great at getting us ready for college, and our award winning sports are a plus! Lake Hamilton will always hold a special place in my heart, as well as the amazing teachers that mentored me throughout the years.

Senior: One of the only reasons for my success in high school was because of this particular school. I've come to realize that, in this school, the teachers and staff are incredibly helpful when it comes to preparing the students for college. They provided us with ample opportunities to increase our chances of success after high school, whether that was seeking help for a higher ACT score, looking for scholarships, or even good volunteer activities. The change I would like to see is for there to be no further change; it's very paradoxical, but I uphold to this being necessary. The reason being my own experience; the past three years in this high school, we've had four different principles and a continuous change in staff that seems to grow each year. The changes have thrown all of the students for a loop and I'd like for that to stop for the future students of this school.

Alum: High school can be tough, but I had some great teachers who encouraged me through it all. I think, like most schools, Jessieville had some budgeting issues and could have done better to make sure teachers were equipped with the tools and materials they needed to strive in the classroom.

Alum: I really liked that this school was a diverse place not just in race and culture, but in opportunities. For the academically driven students, there were plenty of options and rigorous courses. For those looking for vocational knowledge and experience, there was an academic path that connected to the local community college where students could go learn a trade skill that would help find a niche in the workforce. Things that I didn't like where minute things like rowdy students and inefficiency when it came to disciplinary actions in certain situations but overall it is a good school and I entered college prepared and ready to continue my academic career.

Senior: I have been attending Cutter Morning Star for 14 years. I remember my first day walking into Pre-School, I was so excited to make new friends and learn new things. The 14years that I have been at Cutter have been the best years of my life and I am so proud to say that I go to Cutter Morning Star. Cutter may not have the best education system but we do have an amazing group of teachers that do what they can to give the students the best education possible. At Cutter, we are a family and its a great feeling to walk down the halls and have everyone welcoming you with a smile. Our principal is an amazing guy. He does so much for our school and he makes it a priority to get to know each and every student. Cutter Morning Star is a small school with a very big heart.

Sophomore: Sophomore: It's a great school yeah, Mountain Pine is a little of the slow-paced kind of school, and it offers National Park College courses on the college campus and also Arkansas Tech University online. The courses are only available if you score a 19 on the ACT test. The teachers there are understanding and they treat you like family. The band is improving, the football team is getting better with each year, there's a golf team, fishing, track, marching band, football, and more.

Alum: I went to Gospel Light for three years of high school and absolutely loved my time there. The staff was always willing to take time and help you with any problems you have in or outside the classroom. I was also given the opportunity to play basketball for all three years, and I consider those times to be the most fun years of my life.
