Junior: Petoskey High School is a great school, with many friendly staff members. I was always able to get help if I did not understand something. Every teacher would go out of their way to help any student. The only thing that I would like to see change is that we get more female oriented sports teams. Our sport programs are not the best, and what we do have for female teams are scarce. The cheerleaders are considered to be a part of a "club", there is no dance team or a female lacrosse team, among other things. Senior: Mackinaw City is an amazing small school community. It has great teachers and very kind students. The hot lunch is pretty good for a school, my favorite is the chicken Alfredo, and the athletic teams are great for their sized school which is about 10 kids per grade, if that. Recently in athletics the school has been conference champs for boys cross country the past two years, girls cross country this year, volleyball the past three years, girls basketball the past four years, softball this past year, and baseball two years ago. Along with being district champs in volleyball this year, boys basketball district champs two years ago, and girls basketball being district champs two, three, and four years ago. The parents are very involved with the school and the community is very supportive towards the students and teams. There is a great wood shop program. Some clubs the school has is Kindness Club, Chess Club, Art Club, Drama Club, Pep band, and Quiz Bowl.... Read 2 reviews

Senior: Overall, it was a good experience. I think there could be better communication between the student body and administration when it comes to students trying to address issues they see. Senior: Though my experience at Harbor Light Christian has only been for two years, I feel that the preparation for many different aspects of life is very solid. I know that I have excelled in every subject through my time here. The teachers teach very thoroughly and classroom atmosphere is enjoyable in most, if not all classes. The other students attending are also very enjoyable to be around. High School Sophomore: I love my school, but it's hard to get ahead in academics without scheduling problems. As a result, I've had to take some classes online, which I didn't enjoy. Overall, I love the small school environment and community! My teachers are very helpful and encouraging, and have gone above and beyond to help me reach my goals.
