Senior: The staff and students really feel like just one big family. Everyone gets along and there are rarely any problems at the school. The sports teams and clubs are really put together, and they have a very structured system. The staff treat the students with respect and in return many of the students give respect back. Having people you can confide in is super important, and you can find those people in the halls at Mac. Whether it be from a teacher or a peer, you can find someone to talk to in the school walls. There's hardly any bulling and everyone gets treated equally. Many students have pride in going to Mac and they wear that pride on their sleeve. I am one of those people. Alum: Eisenhower High School is a great demonstration of the decline of standards across the United States, but particularly in states such as Oklahoma that neglect education. The school has its upsides, such as its attention to STEM and other projects. However, the higher-ups neglect teachers, and post-pandemic it felt like many of the teachers had given up or cared less. In addition, the shortage of teachers created a vacuum in which many of the people that found their way into the halls of LPS were certainly not qualified to be there. In our town, Eisenhower had the reputation of being the academics/AP school, which generated the highest performing students on average. However, the AP program at LPS is dying. The best teacher at the school lost her AP classes due to issues involving the interests of the higher-ups clashing with the interests of the actual educators. Junior: Cache is the best place to bring kids from surrounding areas. Not only do we have great sports programs, our teachers are amazing. The teachers never hesitate to help students when they are in need of help. We also have clean facilities and our school board makes sure to keep us safe during serve weather. Junior: I enjoyed my time at Lawton High. Their history, traditions, and school spirit have all contributed to the much fun I've had. My years of young adulthood have been quite eventful, but I've learned great things from it. My teachers have helped me excel and have influenced me to become the bright and enthusiastic woman I am today. Lawton High felt like a second family, especially my friends. Senior: I liked that it was a small school which allowed more one on one student connection with the teachers. The school is almost always clean and always up to date.
