Senior: My experience in Central Community Jr-Sr High school was pretty good. Teachers are very nice and are willing to work one-on-one with students. Students are pretty good. They are willing to take the time and study and keep their grades up. ... Athletics are amazing here! Great coaches that know a thing or two to make an amazing team. Sportsmanship here isn’t the best I would say though. Many of the ‘star players’ tend to be trained more and tend to get more help than those that are new with not as much training. The ‘star players’ then to be over played also. ... There does tend to be a bit of favoritism in this district also, but that happens everywhere.Read 25 Reviews

Parent: Both of our kids started at The New School in ninth grade, after eight years of public school. It was one of the best parenting decisions we've ever made. Everything about this school is terrific. The teachers are passionate, inspired, and inspiring. Small, topics-driven, seminar-style classes foster creativity and independent thinking, while the welcoming atmosphere makes everyone feel at home. Our two kids turned out to be very different kinds of learners, but both thrived at The New School. Senior: This is truly an amazing school. I value the relationship between my teachers and me. It is obvious they love what they do and want every student to succeed. Also, I know Academy has prepared me for college - the work load, albeit difficult, is manageable. Additionally, the sports facilites are incredible; I do not know many schools that have their own pool attached. That being said, I would like to see more attention given to the fine arts department. There are so many hidden artists in my grade that I did not know about until taking Studio Art. Finally, recognizing the minorities in the community, Norfolk Academy has taken steps to make their campus more inclusive this year. Overall, I have loved my high school experience at NA and highly recommend this school to students striving to make the most of their education...Read 143 Reviews
