Freshman: St Thomas is a great school and from being in a public school all my life, its clear to see the academics and college prep are excellent. The teachers are also very qualified in their jobs. There are also so many opportunities at STA that you can fit in anywhere and find new experiences you never would’ve thought you’d have. The school also has a mandatory service hour requirement which is easy to fulfill, you just need to get involved on campus. Also if you are a bit concerned about the religious aspect like I was, it really isn’t that prevalent and they do not force it on you if you aren’t religious. The campus is really nice and open, and it isn’t too big either so you won’t get lost. The school spirit is absolutely amazing and the football games really feels like a college game with all the school spirit the students have and it’s super fun to go to the games! Senior: Bolles is an excellent school with amazing opportunities in all areas. The teachers and advisors truly care for you and your success and will do anything to help you. Alum: American heritage is an amazing private school with so many opportunities. The different pre-professional tracks, including pre-law, pre-med, engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, and business are taught by professionals in the real field. The academic workload is intense at times but the teachers are (for the most part) great! The clubs outside of school are also great as well. Parent: One of the greatest things that Cardinal Gibbons is known for is our school spirit. We love our pep-rally’s, football games, and team spirit. Walking into campus for the first time as a freshman, I was very nervous. But the students, teachers, and administration made me feel so welcomed. We take pride in the traditions that have been going at Cardinal Gibbons for decades. One of my favorite traditions was when the freshman dressed up as babies and the seniors dressed as old people. All students are very fortunate to have advanced technology in classes. One of our business classes has an actual stock ticker so we can see when stocks go up and down. Although I’m not an huge fan of cafeteria food, Gibbons is known for their famous lunch wrap. It’s so popular that all grade levels are assigned certain days to get the wraps! Senior: Venice High School has a wonderful support system of faculty and many opportunities to thrive. Throughout all four years of high school, there was never a time where I felt like I didn’t belong. The teachers are wonderful and so insightful! Senior: I greatly enjoyed my time at Calvary! Like with any school, there is the occasional bad teacher, weird rule, etc.; even so, the staff as a whole are qualified and really care about their students’ academic success and spiritual growth. Also, Calvary puts in great effort to provide fun activities for us, which I appreciated. I was a part of the marching and concert band all four years at Calvary, and they were one major reason for my love for the school. Marching band allowed me to be a part of a wonderful community before starting freshman year, it helped me gain self-discipline, and it was a challenging and rewarding experience. Along with the program and people being great, the band staff are fabulous because they are talented musicians, qualified in their fields of teaching, and go above and beyond to help us. Senior: Niceville High School is the best school that I have ever been to. There are so many opportunities that any student can take on while attending this school. The academic programs are top-notch, with dedicated teachers who go above and beyond to help students succeed. Junior: I have been going to Apopka high school for the past, almost, three years and I have had an amazing experience. Junior: Merritt Island High school is a wonderful community, every student finds their own special path in the school. I am a part of the Theatre department, which is an incredible program with some amazing teachers. Every program at Merritt island is well supported with kind and caring teachers, parents and administration. The students all have such a strong community. Every football game is attended by the majority of the student body, as well as soccer games, baseball and volleyball. Merritt Island has a very strong sports programs, especially volleyball. Senior: Fort Myers High was a very welcoming school when I first got there. Throughout my 4 years there, I received so much help from all of the staff. With one of my teachers introducing me to track, I am now going to college on and athletic scholarship. The IB program I feel has prepared me so much for college. I was involved in many clubs in which many teachers sponsored them. There was not one time I felt like I was on my own throughout my high school career. Fort Myers was a great choice in receiving my high school diploma, especially offering different types of learning including IB, AP, AICE, dual enrollment, honors and traditional classes.
