Senior: A great place to thrive. Small classes, a great family atmosphere. I have made great friends and there a ton of resources. I am an athlete and love the sports program. I love how much time the parents put into the school and how theys support their students. All grades support each other- it is very inclusive and a real family feel. I felt comfortable from the first day and know that I will really miss the tight knit community that this school offers. I feel I have gotten a great education while making friendships that will last a lifetime. The coaches and teachers are great. I feel that for academia the school still has a very conservative feel to it. The only thing that I would critique negatively would be the school counselors. I never really "needed" them but in terms of getting ready to apply for colleges etc they didn't guide us very well. The school counselors don't seem to spend a lot of time with their students. Alum: I loved my experience at Marian. Even though it was all-girls, which can be scary to some high schoolers, I really felt like I could be myself and dive into my education confidently. The social events like Field Day, Surprise Day, Walk-a-Thon, gave girls a chance to get together and have a lot of fun. As a former student-athlete for all four years of high school, I can say the athletics programs are especially competitive but always tight-knit. Senior: Overall I enjoyed my years here at South High, we have many good teachers who actually try to connect and engage with their students. We also have a lot of different after school clubs and sports! If I could change once thing about my school it would probably be a better bathroom system. To explain, every day all the bathrooms are locked except one to keep students from skipping or wandering around in the halls. The issue is they chose what bathrooms to keep open at random so really they aren’t helping the “wandering student” problem. Senior: My experience at Elkhorn High was very memorable. Because of it’s challenging and rigorous curriculum, it brought out some of my best qualities and helped me develop a work ethic that will set me up for success throughout college and the rest of my life. I learned so much at Elkhorn and I feel very prepared for college! However, there are times where the amount of work that teachers assign us can be a little overwhelming, and I think students could have a slightly lighter workload while achieving the same amount of preparation for college. Senior: My favorite part about Millard South is the culture. At Millard South it is encouraged to be apart of as many things as possible. Junior: PLHS is a wonderful school, and everyone is very open and warm. The teachers are willing to go out of their way for students - academically or otherwise - and are brilliant themselves. For you foodies, the food choices are excellent. There’s usually five main meal options. The students at this school are also really open and understanding of each other, which is amazing considering most of us have at least one mental issue. Gross has wonderful faith-, leadership-, academic-, theater-, and sports-based groups in which to participate. It's welcoming! Strong academics. Love the trip experiences centering on important topics. As parents, we appreciate the House activities and family dinners (when there's not a pandemic!) and appreciate school leaders being unwaveringly Catholic. We've met numerous families who transferred into Gross from other faith-based and public schools for this leadership.
