Sophomore: Natick High School is a beautiful high school in Central Massachusetts with around 1600 students attending. Natick High School offers all levels of difficulty classes from college-prep to ap courses. The teachers at this school are amazing and always willing to work with students before or after school to work through problems students are having. They're also lenient about extensions due to students' busy schedules. The guidance counselors at Natick High are fantastic and are great at guiding students to become the best versions of themselves by the time they graduate through resilience, leadership, respect, etc. There are all sorts of sports teams that students are able to try out for at Natick High. Furthermore, Natick is huge on school spirit and getting involved in clubs or sports. Additionally, there are around 60 clubs to choose from at this school. Parent: My son has had an incredibly positive experience at Lawrence Academy. The teachers are wonderful and nurturing; and the advisor program encourages involvement and good study habits. Lawrence Academy is a community rich with actives; arts and music, athletics, clubs, charitable events as well as leadership opportunities. The staff and administration are continually providing many different ways for students to become involved, promoting the diverse interests of all the students. By joining the soccer team his freshman year, my son made lots of great friends very quickly, both other freshman and upper class-men. He has found LA to be a warm and welcoming environment. Lawrence is a great balance of academics, activities and community. I'm so thankful to have found this perfect place for my son to grow and develop throughout his high school years. Sophomore: Billerica Memorial Highschool is a very modern and great high school! Its building is amazing and big and brand new and has a nice modernized look to it. BMHS has teachers that all have their unique way of teaching and connecting with students which makes classtime much more enjoyable. BMHS has a number of clubs including Peer Leaders, key club, SOCA (Students Of Color Association), and much more. Although the mascot of the school can be questionable...and it isn't the perfect school...It's overall a really nice high school where the students are most importantly able to learn, find programs/clubs that they are interested in, and have fun! Sophomore: Unlike many high schools in the area, LS provides students with a "college-like" selection of many courses, such as English. We have about 20 courses to choose from, ranging anywhere from Expository Writing to Modern-British Literature, mostly structured as semester-long classes so students can experience a more diverse educational experience. The teachers are phenomenal, and really take advantage of the flexible curriculum to teach students more than just the required. The counseling department is also stellar, really making me feel more prepared and less stressed about college. Senior: North Reading High School is a very prestigious school. Although it lacks diversity and is a predominately white school, it offers electives to encourage teaching of various religions and cultures. The preparation precautions for college are average. The guidance counselors provide resources such as a Common Application bootcamp to guide juniors going into senior year through the process, but do not make an effort to talk through their struggles one-on-one. However, my junior year had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and it's possible that the juniors before me have received more thorough assistance. All academics taught at the school are above average, and students are given a choice of Academic or Honors classes depending on teacher recommendations and what the student is comfortable with, as well as multiple AP class options are available starting sophomore year. Junior: There are definitely some good things and some bad things about this school, but overall I have generally had a positive experience here. One of my concerns with the school however is that the guidance department often seems to be trying to limit the classes students can take and make it harder to take high level courses rather than going out of their way to help students get into classes that will challenge them. Senior: I have absolutely loved my experience at MC. From the start, everyone has always been so friendly and welcoming. I have never seen anyone with a frown in the classrooms and the teachers always make learning fun. Senior: I moved to a different state at the end of my junior year, but I loved my time at MHS. Most of my teachers were great, and my guidance counselor was too. There were so many options and opportunities for elective classes and extracurriculars, I wish I could have done more. Definitely do not regret taking all honors and AP classes. Senior: Lowell High School is a sprawling ever growing, ever evolving school. It may be old, but now it's rebuilding parts and adding new parts to the body from the students who asked for it, like the new gym building opening this fall the acefemics are great and entirely immersive, the diversity seems to grow even more everyday, as well as the teacher being respectful and impactful in the process. College readiness is well supplemented and has everyone ready for the college journey. Clubs and activity flers hang from wall to wall on every corridor and hallways you enter and the safety of the school are well monitored with cameras hidden amongst the entire campus as well as patrolling security guards. The administration and school culture are beyond excellent as the foods over there are constantly changing and adapting to more cultures. Senior: We've lost some amazing teachers in the last few years, but the academics, for the most part, are still pretty good. The AP program is particular is great especially for such a small school. There are lots of options and it looks like the school is trying to add more APs in the future. Clubs seem to be lacking, but the athletics are great. The track program is amazing and we have great school spirit when it comes to sports. People get really into the football games. And I'm not part of it personally, but we also have a great drama program. They typically put on shows around three times per year. I think the administration has done a great job handling covid. Junior: Holliston High School as a whole has an extremely calm and comforting atmosphere (when not considering the students attending). Holliston values the individual, and has supported me wholeheartedly when I came out as transgender. The administration are very understanding of situations, and teachers always do the most they can to help students if they are struggling. Of course, situations change based on student activity, but admin and staff are usually on top of the issue and try their best to handle it. For example, during my time here there were issues with hate speech and symbols being written on the bathroom walls, but admin has had multiple discussions and assemblies with students on the importance of understanding the hurt and discrimination it causes. Sophomore: I have gone to school here since sixth grade, and I am about to enter my junior year. The dedication NCDS has put into my education is truly astounding, and continues to leave me in awe with every new year. I love everything about it, from the various committees/clubs you can partake in, competitive and fun sports teams, Sacred Heart traditions like conge, and the supportive TAG program for middle schoolers and the advisors program for upper schoolers. Between my advisor, my teachers and my coaches, I know that if a problem arises that I need help solving or just need to talk out, I have an abundance of options for people to turn to. Classes are also challenging, but with the support every student gets from their teacher, they are manageable. Senior: My overall experience at Gr Lowell Regional Vocational Technical has been amazing. I made connections with my teachers, made new friends, and also be one step closer to my goals. I like going to the voke knowing I get to have the opportunity to get an education in academics and also in my field of trade; two education at once. I appreciate the staff and teachers pushing students to succeed and to believe in themselves. I remember when I was a freshman, I was a very quiet shy girl, who didn't ask for help even when I was struggling. As time passed by, I felt more comfortable reaching out for help. Freshman: Burlington High School has been a great experience so far. The school lunches are high quality and well cooked, and although many may criticize the schedule, I am a big fan of it. I like the idea of a rotation schedule as it makes you feel like you're doing something different every day. I am not a big fan of the bathrooms always being locked, and the brutalist 70's architecture. The school is a huge hill you must climb to get to your classes. The teachers are kind and fun, but none of the classrooms have windows. There is a wide variety of classes one can take such as Feminism, which is a class you do not see in many high schools. There are lots of clubs and extracurriculars, everybody can find something they're interested in. Senior: Stoneham High has been a generally positive experience, from creating meaningful relationships to helping the community. Through my time here I have been very lucky to meet so many fantastic peers, teachers, and staff who are very supportive beyond just the classroom.
