Senior: I have been enrolled as a student at Lakewood from preschool to senior year. I am so thankful that I was able to spend so much time in such a wonderful community. The teachers are very loving and go above and beyond their pay to help out students and show them genuine love. Junior: My experience at Eastside so far has been a great high school experience. Everything about Eastside I admire, the communities, the opportunities that Eastside offers, and the endless amount of good influences around us students. There is always a staff or student being kind or respectful, and if someone needs support there is always someone there to help. I would say the only downside of my experience at Eastside is the school shooting scares, but that is nationwide, not just a single high school issue. Besides that, my experience at Eastside has been fantastic. The opportunities that they offer are very ideal, they provide certain college classes and credits that will supply us and help us students get far. They offer impact and internships so not only college classes but college experiences as well which is such a blessing. Alum: I graduated in 2022 and I left feeling some gratitude and some wishing I had more. I left feeling gratitude because I felt like the academics and what we are there for was above average. I enjoyed most of my teachers and how they taught their subject. The courses were pretty good at preparing us for college and we had trades for the individuals that didn't see college in their near future. So that part was good. What left me wishing I had more was the lack of school spirit, lack of participation from the student body and even staff members. Junior: I really like the curriculum at Garrett. I’ve been to a lot of schools and I was pleasantly surprised with the classes they offer. They do not offer AP courses but pretty much every subject has a Dual Credit version of it where you can earn college credits as well as high school credits towards your diploma. These college credits really stack up and prove to be an asset on college applications. Many people graduate Garrett either close to being or being a sophomore in college from the amount of college credits they already obtain. I would like to see more diversity but that’s something the school doesn’t have a whole lot of power over. The teachers are very personable and focus on student to student. They will help those who need it and dedicate time to making sure that the students understand. It is honestly the school with the most friendly and inclusive teachers that I have ever attended. Junior: Great school! I have been going here since 2nd grade and have never had a problem with anyone. Its a small town so everyone knows everyone. It is an even smaller school.
