North Bend Senior High School
1 Best High School Sports in Coos County
- North Bend School District, OR
Senior: Overall I believed the North Bend High School to be the best school within our county, because the teachers are exceptionally excellent and more than willing to work with you. The academics have much more of a variety to choose from that are engaging, than most high schools in our county would have. I've had a great experience with North Bend High School so far these last four years, I'm sad to be graduating, and the only thing I'd recommend the high to improve on, is better quality and more nutritionist base food options.

Marshfield Senior High School
2 Best High School Sports in Coos County
- Coos Bay School District, OR
Senior: I have attended Marshfield for my entire high school career and I have been pleased for the most part with the school overall. Most teachers are very good and helpful. Marshfield also has a rich history and incredible legacy and it is very exciting to be a part of. Marshfield is very good about giving their students the chance for college. While attending the high school you may take any college class through them and it is covered by the school. I know people on track to, and people that have received their associates degree through Marshfield by attending our Local Community College. I did not even realize about trades until someone else introduced them to me which I feel like the school should have done. They should also offer more opportunities for people to find a trade they are interested in rather than just finding everyone a major for a college.

Coquille JR/SR High School
3 Best High School Sports in Coos County
- Coquille School District, OR
Senior: My overall experience with Coquille High School has been pretty good. The school is not very diverse, ethnically, and does not give the students in the area the diversity needed in the real world. However, the atmosphere in the school is loving and nourishing. The teachers all want you to succeed and are helping you to the best of their ability. My school also offers college classes through Southwestern Oregon Community College that are able to be taken at the high school. This is extremely beneficial to students trying to get ahead. Overall, Coquille High School was a great place to go to school and a good community to grow up in.

Parent: French American Int'l School has been wonderful for my two daughters. Not only do they teach high-quality language immersion but the arts, technology, music and PE are all infused in their core learning. The middle school (Gilkey) gives fantastic structure for those awkward tween years. Small class sizes and a dedicated group of teachers who have been there forever make a vibrant learning environment. The IB program is an added bonus that enhances their studies considerably. The IB load starts early and continues all the way through middle school, setting them up for a rigorous high school curriculum. Not all immersion schools provide this level of high-quality studies. French American walks their talk. Plus, they are building a new facility for their middle school! It is definitely worth checking out. The one drawback is the pick up/drop off process. It gets bogged down pretty fast.

Myrtle Point High School

High School Senior: I love the energy that each student and parent brings to the school athletic events. We have a lot of pride in our school and we always bring each other up after a loss and carry our pride over to the next. The way the teachers treat us shows just how much they care about bettering our educational mind set. I love my school and the way we help each other along we bleed red, blue and white but not just for our country for our school bobcat nation all the way!
