Murray A. Chittick Elementary School

Niche User: The teaching staff keeps learning fun for all grades and they like to make the kids think about what is around them and what is outside their comfort zone. The Principal is against homework overload so, the kids love him and I think teachers and parents do too. Children need to be children and his homework policies have made that possible.

Tuition is not that expensive. I looked at the Prep schools for middle schools and determined that St Barts was better. They used the same curriculum but had better discipline
Many of our graduates go on to illustrious high schools. Peddie, Rutgers, Christian Brothers, St Joe and Mt St Mary have many of our alumni. Most of the kids took the HSPT and got into at least one Catholic school. The standardize test scores (Terra Novas) are really high. The language arts and science curriculum is strong yielding excellent test scores. Algebra 1 is taught to everyone in the 8th grade. The teacher is excellent with this painful subject. Grades are based on projects and tests.
They use google classroom which makes homework easier. The kids enjoy it. Teachers are responsive and informative.
The religion curriculum is not insulting to others. Emhasis is on charity of Jesus and responsibilities to the poor. We have Jews, Jehovah's witness, budhist, sikh, moslem and atheists. We also have several gay parents. All are welcome.
We finally got a Latina, they are no Black teachers. But it does not matter. I can honestly say that their is no racial issues.
The parish is friendly and at all cliquish. Father Tom is an enjoyable priest, and he gives excellent conversation. He is the Hollywood good priest we see in the movies.
The smartest thing you can do is send your kids to St Barts.
