Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning
365 Best Public Elementary Schools in Colorado
- Colorado Springs School District No. 11, CO
Parent: Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning is a great K-8 charter school that serves the needs of the gifted and talented population. Since this group is often a under-recognized diversity group, this school does a great job in serving their needs. Individualized learning happens on a daily basis. Various curriculums are taught in a playful and interesting way that makes learning fun. I especially like the soothing music in the morning. Assemblies at the end of the week are fun and educational. The principal is very involved and knows pretty much all children by their names.

Annie Wright Schools

Parent: My children both graduated from AWS, and I am compelled to write this review because they are so wonderfully prepared for college. Thank you Annie Wright! The care and professionalism demonstrated by the teachers is amazing. My kids are not only academically prepared, they know how to advocate for themselves, and build relationships with their professors at college. They have started the boys school now I hear, and although I had some reservations initially, I do agree that this extraordinary IB education should be available to all kids in the South Sound. This school is making a difference in the lives of kids, families and helping the development of the region.
