Central Valley Christian Academy

Senior: My experience at Centrally Valley Christian Academy was a long one. I started from pre-school all the way to now, a senior. I found it to be an overall good experience. The atmosphere is very friendly and I think helps people build a strong relationship with God, while at the same time getting a good education. Things that may need to change is the staff and to have more of a professional environment, as it seems to get away with quite a bit for being a private school.

Alberta Martone Elementary School
- Modesto City Elementary School District, CA
Alum: When I attended Martone the school was very well funded and had a lot of educational activities and trips. Due to the lowering in funding trips became harder and teaching quality decreased a bit. Martone lacked extracurricular activities and after school programs that could get kids more active after they finished their homework. Many elementary schools now a days have programs for yoga, mindfulness, dancing and much more. In terms of technology computer teachers always lacked during my attendance at martone which would lead to confusion between students on how to learn to use technology with good instructions.

Don Pedro Elementary School
- Ceres Unified School District, CA
Niche User: I liked that Don Pedro is a really spirited school. Administrators are always very encouraging and preparing their students to get ready for college. A change that I would like to see would be the school lunches that the students are being fed.

- Portola Valley, CA
- PK, K-8
Parent: This is our third year at Woodland. We love it but, more importantly, our kids love it. The teachers and staff do take the time to actually know your kid and they do a great job at meeting their individual needs. Community is not just a word around here. It does exist. And you understand that it does take a village to raise a child - or three! Can't recommend it enough.

BASIS Independent Silicon Valley

- San Jose, CA
Freshman: Niche allows reviews to only be less than 1000 characters, so I'll try to summarize everything.
Academics/Teachers/Resource: MWAH! The teachers are all qualified and passionate about their respective subjects (many also have PhD's). There are many resources within the school that assist students' academic performance if they wish, such as the peer tutoring program, office hours, or simply having a classmate help you out.
Clubs: A surprisingly wide variety of clubs. The largest (and arguably best) clubs consist of Speech & Debate, Mock Trial, and DECA.
Sports: PE only offers the mainstream sports, such as soccer, basketball, and football.
Diversity: Nonexistent. All Asians.
Food: Most of the students hate it.
School Culture: Many of the students are talented and smart, but many of them at the same time are also conceited and condescending, which degrades the school environment by a considerable amount.
