Parent: The principal at AOE is amazing, and the teachers are really strong. It is a high achieving school, with an emphasis on academic achievement, but also has excellent extracurriculars. My daughter is thriving in the after school robotics club (FLL) and I love that they have opportunities in music and the arts as well. The fact that is is on the same campus as the middle school will make the transition to middle school very easy. A+ for this school!

Alum: I spent 4 years at The King's Academy and it was amazing. I had caring teachers who were always accessible, small class sizes a very safe campus. One highlight of every year was when over 400 students, faculty and parents got in buses and travelled down to Mexico for 1 week building houses for the poor there. Our school has been doing this for 20 years. King's was more like a family than just an academic institution. It was an awesome and life changing influence for me!

Senior: A lovely school to be a part of! Being a small school allows students to get to know one another more. I have made so many friendships along the way. Key club has been here since 1994. The very same year our school started. I have met so many smart, kind and most importantly good leaders of our home, school, and community through this club. As a group, we have all participated in various cleanups, food drives, and veteran stand downs. It's wonderful being able to be a part of this Club and especially serve as President for the last two years. Overall, this school has many other wonderful clubs and sports. It is missing a football team but its okay. We have an amazing soccer team. They put so much effort during practices and is overall reflected when they play during their matches. They play so well that last year they went to the finals! The teachers always have their plans ready before teaching. Every lesson goes smoothly. I am honored to be a part of this wonderful institution.

Niche User: Our daughter has gone to Alvin Dunn elementary for 2 years, since she was 3yrs old. She attended the Pre-k program with Mrs. Perkins. Our daughter had transitioning from one activity to another and socializing with her peers when she started, not only has her academic skills have improved incredibly but she no longer has those other issues. I would highly recommend Alvin Dunn Elementary. They have set the bar so high for the next school, that I hope just because her new school has a higher rating, that they can live up to that rating. :) Thank you Alvin Dunn!!

Alum: I loved Stevenson (alum, Class of '15), so this comment should be taken as a critique for improvement rather than a summation of my experience (if it wasn't stellar, I wouldn't mention it).
Stevenson absolutely should (and needs to) do more for increasing its diversity and financial aid. At my time, only <30% of students were on some aid of any sort, and the result is a relatively homogeneous student body. The faculty were tremendously supportive of me (low-income) but the administration wasn't quite there. While I do recognize it's a tricky business being supportive of low-income/otherwise-marginalized students while also making ends meet, it's tremendously important. Stevenson is absolutely capable of making these changes and has an obligation to (beyond "Diversity Week" and guest speakers). If you're reading this and you're involved with Stevenson, it should be your priority to support these goals too!
