Frederick Classical Charter School
84 Best Public Elementary Schools in Maryland
- Frederick County Public Schools, MD
Parent: FCCS is an academically rigorous environment that sets high standards for each student. It instills the awareness of virtues and uses this framework to build character. The teachers are dedicated and hard-working. The school building and location are lacking and it's shame that this excellent classical school doesn't have something better. The outdoor playground is like a prison yard and being in an industrial business park makes you wonder who is working in and around very close proximity to your cildren? Fortunately the academics and teachers make up for the logistical shortcomings. Finally, if you are not up for an environment that puts academics first, and you want sports or after school activities, this is not the school for you. Here, As a parent, you'll also recognize your young children are capable of so much more. This school is serious about education and somehow instills in children a genuine hunger for learning.

The Boys' Latin School of Maryland
- Private School
- Baltimore, MD
Alum: BL goes way beyond the label of school. Boys' Latin provides the experiences necessary to facilitate positive growth within boy. The facilities, course offerings and resources are tremendous, but what really sets the school apart is the relationships it enables. The BL faculty is simply extraordinary. Brilliant educators guide each student on his individual path, challenging and supporting in a familial fashion.
My gratitude to BL and for my experience is boundless. I would not suggest any school other Boys' Latin for any boy
