BASIS Independent Silicon Valley
- Private School
- San Jose, CA
Middle School Student: Basis's curriculum is outstanding compared to other public and private schools alike. It includes all 3 sciences, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, with excellent teachers teaching these subjects. My experience here has been amazing with my friends, but quite boring without. Things I would change about Basis Independent Silicon Valley would be to add more sport clubs or sport teams. So far, we only have a volleyball girls team, basketball boys team, and basketball girls team. Also, they need a bigger school ground if your the type of person who likes to play wall ball, football, soccer, etc. The school also needs to improve its diversity among people, because the school is about 95 percent asian. Overall, Basis is all about STEM and barely any competitive sports making this school quite unique.

Niche User: After attending public schools all my life, my parents decided to put me in a charter school for my high school senior year. It was overall a great experience. At first I loved how I only had to attend 1-2 times a week, but then I noticed that it was hard to obtain friendships. Although, this school did offer tutoring sessions once a week and all students were allowed to go. The teachers were all very involved in students academically and would go above and beyond to make sure you're successful. I think this was a great school and I loved all the staff. Sadly this school does not offer sports because of the funding and considering how it's partially homeschool. You spend about an hour and 15 minutes for each class. You mostly turn in your homework, takes tests, and receive your new homework. There's not much time to socialize, which makes the students very determined to get all their work handed in. It's definitely a different atmosphere compared to public school.

High School Senior: The person who made my sixth grade experience memorable was the teacher. He is now principal at this school and hopefully is continuing the great efficiency there. Almondale is very hands-on and social, with the teacher always interacting with the students. I would choose this school again because of how fun and social it was.
