Sacramento New Technology High School
- Sacramento City Unified School District, CA
Freshman: The teachers at Sac New Technology High School are very helpful and have classes typically under thirty students. The teachers strive to make students successful with a very small learning environment of under or around 200 students. Many of the students are bilingual between Spanish and English and are willing to help each other in either language. Students work together at large group tables rather than desks, and are able to move freely around the classroom. Much of the work is project based, and students have four classes per semester. Students are able to work at their own pace -- more advanced students are able to take classes with other advanced students and upperclassmen, however there are no AP or Honors classes. The school has a few clubs, and students are allowed to create one of their own if supervision of a staff or faculty is present. Dances are held multiple times throughout the year in order to fundraise for the school, along with other fundraisers.

Freshman: I really enjoy attending Edgewood Academy. I feel like I am learning what I need for a successful education. Although I'm only a freshmen, I can already see that I am being prepared for what I need to know later in my life of education.

BASIS Independent Silicon Valley
- Private School
- San Jose, CA
Middle School Student: Basis's curriculum is outstanding compared to other public and private schools alike. It includes all 3 sciences, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, with excellent teachers teaching these subjects. My experience here has been amazing with my friends, but quite boring without. Things I would change about Basis Independent Silicon Valley would be to add more sport clubs or sport teams. So far, we only have a volleyball girls team, basketball boys team, and basketball girls team. Also, they need a bigger school ground if your the type of person who likes to play wall ball, football, soccer, etc. The school also needs to improve its diversity among people, because the school is about 95 percent asian. Overall, Basis is all about STEM and barely any competitive sports making this school quite unique.
