Charlottesville Catholic School
- Private School
- Charlottesville, VA
- PK, K-8
Parent: Our family LOVES CCS! Our two boys went through CCS and are much better young men and students as a result. The overall environment at the Catholic School is exceptional. Academically, the students are encouraged, supported, and pushed to do their very best in the classroom. The teachers do an amazing job of reaching each student individually which translates into a trusting, caring, and successful school experience for the student, the parent(s), and also the teacher. In and out of the classroom the teachers and staff also do an extraordinary job of instilling discipline, self-respect and respect for others, thoughtfulness, and a sense of community and personal responsibility. Our boys continue to excel each and every year both as students and as young men in our community and I believe those valuable traits are a direct result of the foundation, mentorship, and guidance that they received as students at the Charlottesville Catholic School.

North Star Public Charter School

- West Ada School District, ID
- PK, K-12
Parent: North Star is a wonderful school filled with exceptional teachers, principles, and other staff truly committed to seeing their kids succeed. A few years ago my son was blessed enough to make his way off of the lottery waiting list and was offered a spot in the 1st grade. Walking into this school literally felt like a breath of fresh air when compared to his prior school. Everyone we met on our tour that first day was very helpful and welcoming. All the staff had a genuine smile on their face and I could feel that they were happy to be there. Such a pleasant surprise!

Cecil D. Andrus Elementary School
61 Best Public Elementary Schools in Idaho
- West Ada School District, ID
- PK, K-5
Parent: Andrus Elementary has one of the few Gifted and Talented magnet programs in the State. It is an incredible program for those children that qualify. The award winning elementary music program is rare for our state. The music teacher is extraordinary and one of the best parts of the school. Andrus is also one of the few elementary schools that have an orchestra. The administration has had a great deal of turnover the past few years but, the teachers remain consistent for the most part. The parking lot is a bit difficult to maneuver. The school certainly could have been set up better geographically but the caring and loving staff makeup for that flaw. The PTA is top notch & parent involvement is high. After having 4 of my 5 children attend Andrus, I have found they are well prepared for the transition to middle school and beyond. Overall, I would highly recommend this school as a safe, welcoming, and educationally sound learning environment for children.

Valley View Elementary School
140 Best Public Elementary Schools in Idaho
- Boise Independent School District, ID
- PK, K-6
Niche User: While the school has some things that could be adjusted, the people and the teachers there care so much and work hard to supply the best education possible with the resources they have. I spent most of my childhood here, and continued to go out of my way to volunteer at this school until leaving the state to attend college. It is very socioeconomically diverse, and that has made a real difference in how I approach the world and interact with others. Overall, it was a great place to grow up.
