New Explorations into Science,Technology & Math School
19 Best Public Elementary Schools in New York
- New York City Geographic District No. 1, NY
Freshman: I have given NEST+M a 4/5 stars because it excelles in benefitting the students lifestyle. Most of the teachers are great at teaching, creating hands on activities and group activities that would most likely benefit us later on. But at the same time, they are leient enough to extend a deadline if it’s absolutely needed for the student’s life outside of their busy school life. Additionally, we have college week where the teachers would explain to us about certain colleges (and universities). And there is also a college office. However, there aren’t many clubs, NEST+M is still developing in clubs. A few examples, Key club, tech crew, debate, and student government. Correlating, the PA helps out a lot, especially in setting up school events. The hold bake sales and breakfast for the adults and teachers on some mornings. Overall, NEST+M is a gifted and talented k-12 school, with different students coming from all five boroughs, bringing in their diverse cultures and unique colors.

The Willow School
- Private School
- Gladstone, NJ
- PK, K-8
Parent: Enrolling our children at Willow is the best thing that we have ever done for our family. All three of our children, who range from middle school to preschool, adore their teachers and their classmates. They are excited to go school, which is no wonder when every aspect of the curriculum has been intentionally designed to ignite curiosity, creativity, and problem solving skills. I did not truly appreciate how innovative the curriculum is until I watched Beyond Measure! We are also thrilled that school partners with us on our children’s character education. The Virtues Program, which is implemented daily at Morning Gathering, teaches the children about the real world applications of ethical and moral behavior through lessons from teachers and students. It is my favorite part of the day, and I often sit in on the morning gatherings to listen to their discussions!

The Anderson School
169 Best Public Elementary Schools in New York
- New York City Geographic District No. 3, NY
Middle School Student: The Anderson school is a small school with both academic challenge and a wonderful sense of community. The admissions process, which is highly selective and challenging, does not reflect the academics of the school, which are taught to every student the same way, regardless of their level. The teachers are excellent, and students learn a lot; it is overall an amazing school.

TAG Young Scholars School
260 Best Public Elementary Schools in New York
- New York City Geographic District No. 4, NY
Middle School Student: The Talented and Gifted School for Young Scholars is a wonderful institution. I have had amazing teachers (shout out to Ms.Danticat!) that have taught me to truly immerse myself in learning. The curriculum is a rigorous one, with 8th graders required to take High school level Regents Exams at the end of their senior year. In my years there, I have only had 3 teachers that I have had a problem with. However, this school does need more funds, as we do not have any clubs other than those provided by the YMCA (which almost no one in the upper grades participates in) and sometimes the appearance of PTA funded programs such as the debate club. Similarly, the only sports are limited to girls volleyball and boys basketball. However, I believe this school is truly remarkable because of its students. The principal may be a jerk to both kindergarteners and staff alike, but the passion that students have for learning (even the lazy ones) makes my time there worthwhile.

High School Senior: The students are overall good. There are a small handful of kids that are disrespectful/rowdy that constantly get disciplined. The school as a whole is on the cliquey side. The administration is generally nice. Students are generally successful as long as they put in the work.

High School Junior: This school is probably one of the best middle school in the Bronx. The teachers are lovely and caring, they always encourage students to perform their best. Over all this school provides great education and it gives students chances to study in a nice environment. This middle school also has many activities that creates many wonderful memories for its students.

P.S. 3 - Raul Julia Micro Society
- New York City Geographic District No. 10, NY
- PK, K-8
Parent: Excellent school, I don't really understand why its rating is C. The teachers and the administration are amazing. They provide support for the students and genuinely want the best for them. As a parent I've never witnessed any school fights or bullying and the safety of the school is impeccable . The only negative thing is could possibly say is that P.S. 3 doesn't have any extra curricular activities (sports, music)
