Junior: Berkeley Prep has been an overall incredible experience for me and has given me so many opportunities I would never have been exposed to otherwise. The resources are unparalleled, whether you are interested in STEM or history, with an incredible robotics team and a nationally ranked debate program. One of the most unique things about Berkeley is the community. Everyone is always doing something interesting, and I think a lot of my best learning has come from outside the classroom and through hearing about what my peers are working on. That being said, inside the classroom the teachers are all incredible and are clearly passionate about what they are teaching, and the flexibility of the curriculum really allows you to pursue your interests. Berkeley has truly given me the opportunity to pursue all of my interests, from being a varsity athlete to being heavily involved in community service and various clubs, and I truly think the community and learning environment are unparalleled.... We found Admissions, the Guidance counselors and all of the school staff to be super accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Parent: Hands down, this is (by far) the best Islamic school in Florida. We have been to (or know students at) many other Islamic schools in Florida, and UAF has the best overall program. The teachers and staff are truly passionate and invested in each of the children, and from day one we were always treated with sincere kindness and valued as individuals. I love the diversity at the school, the fact that UAF provides real-world experiences, and there is a solid balance between academics, religion, and social/emotional well-being. All of the classes challenge the students so they are constantly growing… and the school works very hard to ensure the students are set up for success in the future. Sophomore: I would like to see the American Youth Academy appeal more to its students. Whether it be through encouraging clubs, college readiness, or so on, AYA needs to work on making the scholastic experience more appealing to students. Also, the teachers should look into more strategies to make learning more enjoyable for students through incentives and creative teaching styles, rather than the usual lecture style. The goal of the Administration and teachers here is clear, they want to provide students with a strong Christian education and prepare them for life after high school. Senior: Dayspring overall is a good school. They care about their students and there grades. They try to help everyone succeed and prepared for college. The only thing that is wrong is that when you get into dual enrollment they don’t seem prepared. Maybe students have been unable to get their AA due to Daysprings mistakes. Dayspring often misses something that screws over the student. They also don’t seem prepared enough for their college students due to not having any classrooms for their classes. The high school has to many kids and the 8th graders should not be there. Dayspring is a good school but isn’t the best or most organized when it comes to their dual enrollment students.... Sophomore: Canterbury is a terrific high school. The small class sizes help the teachers get to know you better than just a name on a roster and will actively assist you both in and out of class while still challenging you. The administration cares about you and will ensure you are doing well. There are many activities that you can do, including numerous clubs, which are all supervised by a faculty member but directed by students, which provides students with leadership knowledge. Students are also not placed into stereotypical groups like "jocks" or "theatre kids." Students get the opportunity to do various activities. I would suggest this school to anyone.... Parent: Both of my sons currently attend Bayshore Christian. I am extremely satisfied with the rigorous academic standards set by the school. Unlike other local private schools, Bayshore requires the students be at (or above) current grade level. They are very selective with admissions. They also have a wonderful reputation in the community. My oldest is now in the middle division. Although it is physically the same school as last year, the teachers and administration have done a great job of setting new standards (and boundaries) of what is now expected of him. This school is unique, in that they truly do care about your child. Their goal is to build character and to set students up for success in life. They spend hours and hours developing each child, preparing them for college and beyond. What's amazing (to me) is how many fellow alumni return to volunteer or help out around school. Niche User: I've been with Wider Horizons School my entire life, since I was in Pre-K. I have to say, everyone I met there was like family, yet the curriculum is not for your average student. The academics are exceptional and prepare you to go to college. The teachers, when I was there, were always kind and helped the students whenever needed. I only wish that the school offered more social programs to make things more exciting. Senior: I have attended Indian Rocks Christian for all of middle school and high school. Overall, it has been an excellent experience. Just in the six years I have been there 2 new buildings have opened up, the school has grown in enrollment, and new sports facilities have been made. The teachers truly care about the students and try to provide the best education. Since it is a smaller school, it doesn't offer everything a public school would, but the quality of education is so much better. I have enjoyed every moment at Indian Rocks. I have been involved in Honors Society, Concert Band, Marching Band, Varsity Softball, Varsity Swimming, AP classes, Dual enrollment, Science Fairs, and peer tutoring at IRCS.
