Senior: St Paul’s Episcopal School is a Christian institute I have attended my entire school career. We stand on the foundation of honesty integrity and respect. St Paul’s believes I teaching the individual child which has been most beneficial to myself and my classmates. There has always been opportunities to participate in many clubs ranging from academics, sports, arts and student government. I love how every individual part makes the whole identity of St Paul’s being an inclusive school that embraces all walks of life. I’ve been taught that since I started in Kindergarten. Sophomore: I am currently a sophomore at UMS-Wright Preparatory School. I’ve had a pretty good experience here as far as education goes, and I feel very prepared for college. Most of the teachers are very helpful and want to see you succeed. If you are considering sending your child here, it would be helpful if your child already has a friend that goes here, so they can have an easier transition into the school environment. Senior: I enjoy being at Bayside Academy. It is a small private school so it makes everyone feel like family. I have been attending Bayside Academy since Pre-K and both of my older brothers attended Bayside. Throughout the years I have been in and out of the private schooling system. In Kindergarten my father was unemployed so we lived in Foley, AL for a year. I attended a Catholic school called St. Benedict. In 8th grade, I was very serious about my ballet career and did online, virtual school through our public school system. I did this program 8th and 9th grade and found myself longing to be back in Bayside. I missed my friends, the environment, the structure of the school, and being taught by teachers, rather than teaching myself. Just like any school, Bayside has issues with its administration but they are in the process of repairment. The math department needs a lot of work as well. Works Here: I joined the St. Lukes teaching staff last year. To say that I was shocked is an understatement, but I was shocked in a great way! I was welcomed with opened arms by the faculty, students, and parents at St. Lukes. I immediately knew that I had stumbled upon something fantastic! I am still astonished at how professional the students are. By that, I mean that they are polished, dedicated learners who take on personal responsibility for their own learning. They are committed to growing themselves academically, but they are also committed to their extracurricular activities and service organizations. The students body is well-balanced. Senior: As someone who has been homeschooled and attended online schools throughout my student career, changing to a brick-and-mortar school seemed intimidating at first. However, Bayshore Christian School welcomed me as if I had been a part of the school since kindergarten. Bayshore encompasses the love of Christ, accepting and kind toward everyone who enters the school doors. The classical style of learning Bayshore offers is incredibly helpful when it comes to personal growth and educational excellence. Senior: Cottage Hill has a family atmosphere all around from the teachers to the office staff. The campus is simple to navigate and filled with caring people. Throughout the day there is someone asking you how you are doing. Students get so excited to see a previous teacher or staff member during lunch waves. The smaller school population allows for more student involvement and allows for personal time with teachers. The student body is truly kind to one another and love communicating. The teachers love answering questions and concerns and it fuels them. They do not mind sitting down to discuss anything with their students. Many students seek advice from multiple teachers throughout the school day and the teachers make time for them. It is amazing to see strong relationships blossom over time. Since the staff is well respected and enjoyed, increasing the workload and work type would benefit the students and help prepare them for college.
