Alum: I transferred to Riverstone in my junior year and the community welcomed me right in. Even before I entered the school year, I was connected with a "buddy" and I started to exchange emails with her to chat about classes and etc., which became a great way for me to learn about Riverstone. I was one of the very first residents at the dorm, which is a beautifully renovated complex on the River Street. Our dorm parents of the time, Margaret and Mary, were extremely caring. I really enjoyed the experience of living with kids from all over the world and learning about their cultures and experiences. The academics at Riverstone was definitely challenging and the faculty there were top-notched. The IB program was the hardest thing that I have ever done and it truly prepared me for college. When I started my freshman year at BU, classes felt relevantly easy, or that I would have the tools and capabilities to learn. Overall, I really couldn't thank Riverstone enough for everything!... Senior: I've been at Liberty Charter school since 4th grade, and I'll be graduating this week from Liberty. This school has such a great community. Everyday I'm surrounded with teachers, classmates, and friends that make going to school and learning an amazing experience. The rules are a lot stricter here, but they are still reasonable and manageable, and it's all worth it to be part of such a great environment. This school has been one of the major deciding factors in my career choice of becoming an elementary school teacher, hopefully I can go back and work at Liberty some day.... Read 61 reviews

Alum: It is a good school. The small classes make it easy to learn and easy to make friends. I’ve graduated now, but when I was there I loved it. However, since I’ve gone, I’ve heard that there’s been bullying and the rules have gotten stricter. A bad thing about this school is that the rules are very tight and many of them are not important. There was a general feeling of anger towards the faculty because of that. However, the education is exceptional, and I heard that many classes are taught one grade level above what is required. When I was there, they had choir, theater, creative writing, extra math, and PE as their extracurriculars. That was a few years ago, so I expect they’ve expanded or improved on their classes. Parent: We are in our 10th year at Sage and have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. We started in kindergarten, and their IB program provides so much hands-on inquiry-based learning to make school fun for young learners. The teachers are all amazing. There is no school on Fridays, giving students a chance to recoup or catch up on schoolwork, and the teachers and staff have a full day each week to collaborate, prep, and learn. Their middle school and high school programs are rigorous but fair, and do a wonderful job preparing our kids for college, career, and just life in general! Alum: I loved my experience there as a student. I always felt welcome and was constantly given opportunities to grow both academically and emotionally. I had issues with anger and control growing up, but my Pioneer counselor stepped in and allowed me to have sessions with her outside of class time. Senior: I would say I have been more than content enough at Victory Charter School. There are many traits to love and to despise. One thing that stands out at Victory is the community. Our community is probably one of the best around the valley. The students get along so well and by the end of the year we become more like family. This also includes the teachers! The teachers are so helpful when it comes to helping students whenever they need or organizing events, even if it means staying at school all day. My school doesn't have many students or teachers, but I think this is why we can grow so close to one another. Nobody is scared to ask questions or ask for extra help, this is why Victory Charter is such a pleasant place. Now don't get me wrong every school has its flaws. Well Victory's is the rules, whether that is no talking in the hauls, strict dress code, or only having off-campus lunch once a quarter. Parent: Andrus Elementary has one of the few Gifted and Talented magnet programs in the State. It is an incredible program for those children that qualify. The award winning elementary music program is rare for our state. The music teacher is extraordinary and one of the best parts of the school. Andrus is also one of the few elementary schools that have an orchestra. The administration has had a great deal of turnover the past few years but, the teachers remain consistent for the most part. The parking lot is a bit difficult to maneuver. The school certainly could have been set up better geographically but the caring and loving staff makeup for that flaw. The PTA is top notch & parent involvement is high. After having 4 of my 5 children attend Andrus, I have found they are well prepared for the transition to middle school and beyond. Parent: We hoped that it could have become an art magnet school sooner. Love the parent involvement encouraged by teachers and administration. Especially love how the Title one and other parent volunteers assist in the learning process for all students at Chief Joseph. Wished that we didn't have to have the lottery system in order to attend the school that is closest to our home. Senior: I enjoyed participating with Thomas Jefferson Charter School from Kindergarten through my senior year. I particularly enjoyed the staff's adaptability for each student by providing more difficult and particularly useful skills to use not only for school but for life. This school pushed me to accomplish things I never thought would be possible. I have learned valuable skills and haven't ever felt lost during my transition from High School to college. I personally wouldn't change any of the staff or practices done at this school, and all staff here are very easy to talk to and get in touch with.
