Lourdes Public Charter School
#1 Best Public Elementary Schools in Linn County
- Scio School District, OR
- Rating 4.33 out of 5 3 reviews
Parent: I was so blessed to find Lourdes for my children. The kids have to work hard, but they are given lots of support to learn and be successful! Families are very involved which makes a huge difference in the quality of education the kids recieve, and there is a great community atmosphere. Class sizes are small. This school takes a more traditional approach to learning, which I was initially afraid would not work well for my adhd dyslexic daughter, but the combination of some private tutoring and the encouragement of her teachers, she is now in high school caught up with her peers. I fully attribute this to her teachers perserverance in supporting her. We enrolled her at the beginning of 7th grade after moving to the area. She was very far behind. The staff pushed her to be her best, and she advanced farther than I would have thought possible when we enrolled her. I have deep thankfulness for the staff at Lourdes.

Parent: We love this school! The teachers and staff really have a heart for their students. Public school was a battle for my kids. With comments like "Don't worry when you grow up you can use a calculator" and unsafe situations with bullying - we had it. We saw huge improvements with in weeks at East Linn and our kids have been thriving and filled with confidence in themselves. They see themselves through positive eyes. My daughter went from crying during homework to doing it on her own and loving it. My kids have learned they are valued and they are not limited on what they can accomplish. As a Christian family we love that the school is centered around Christ. Everyone makes mistakes and when a school goes out of its way to encourage forgiveness and move on. That when you realize that is how Christ deals with us. It is about constantly improving ourselves and treating others with respect.

Mari-Linn Elementary School
- North Santiam School District, OR
- Rating 4 out of 5 1 review
Alum: Well, I went here through all of middle school and it was a perfectly good school. I feel it prepared me pretty well for high school and set me on a decent path for success. This wasn't the experience everyone has though, as most of the class that went here eventually turned to drugs. You get what you make of it.

Foster Elementary School
- Sweet Home School District, OR
- Rating 5 out of 5 2 reviews
High School Senior: Like I said before, these teachers are the best in Sweet Home and possibly everywhere else. There isn't a lot of parent involvement and a lot of these kids come from poverty, but the parents that are able to help, not only help their own students but all of the others too.
