Niche User: Trinity has been a great overall education experience. The academics are strong for a private school, the school offers plenty of activities and extracurriculars for students in the fifth grade and up, and provide students with fundamentals needed for their future. As a high school student, I would've hoped for a better Guidance program, as a lot of work for college and standardized test prep was done on my own or with outside guidance counselors. Senior: Eden Christian Academy is located in Pittsburgh, PA. In terms of academics, it can be challenging, but it prepares you for what is demanded from college students. It is clear that all of the teachers truly care and invest themselves into every student. Going beyond Edens academics, the sports programs are growing each year! Many of our sports have made it to WPIAL individuals, team WPIALS and even States. As a senior, students are given the opportunity to take charge by creating a vision for the school to embrace for the year by putting on events, creating service opportunities, and helping other grow in their faith. Alum: Coming from a public school background as an unwilling student, Cornerstone Prep drastically changed me for the better. Challenging educational curriculums and unmatched college prep programs taught me how to learn well, as well as how to think critically about a number of topics. The teachers here, if you put at least the bare minimum of effort into being a good student, are phenomenal. Now that I’ve graduated, I can confidently say that many teachers have become friends of mine, have shaped me, and helped me grow into maturity. Bible classes here are eye-opening, providing an unbiased deep dive into the scriptures with a focus on discipleship and critical thinking. Electives such as Apologetics and Biblical Greek bolster this Christian focus further, accompanied by weekly chapels and daily times of prayer. Sophomore: I have attended Hillcrest Christian Academy since my sixth grade year and plan to continue throughout my high school years. The school is equipped with plenty of classrooms and space for students; the facility is beautiful. The high school has recently added classes from Geneva College that eleventh and twelfth grade students can take to receive college credit, wonderfully equipping students for a bright future. The teachers are kind, caring, personal, engaging, and a positive influence on the students at Hillcrest. The school provides a Christian environment that provides a positive experience for children and teenagers as they go through school. Senior: I attended Redeemer for 6 year and have only great things to say about my experience. The teachers are amazing, the curriculum is second to none and each child is treated with care. I LOVE this school – from the teachers to the students to the challenging curriculum. Redeemer integrates compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons. Though it is a small school, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving children more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers. Senior: My experience with Imani Christian Academy has been great! The environment is very supportive and the staff are there to tend to your needs. The school is small, however, you are able to make personal connections with people. One change I would like to see is the level of education, clubs and activities, and diversity. Imani Christian does not offer AP courses for people who should have the chance to experience being in an AP class setting, as well as provide a selective list for clubs. Parent: COVID really impacted my child's learning last year. Public school teachers did their best, but the curriculum was hard to follow and pieced together requiring use of multiple websites. My daughter passed the grade, as did all of the kids in public school, but between COVID19 and having a teacher who really broke my child's confidence even before COVID, may child was lost academically at the beginning of the year trying to learn online once again. I quickly learned, I am not a teacher. When I learned about Faith Christian, I was ecstatic! My daughter could attend school everyday in person in a safe environment. The teachers are wonderful. They were able to repair some of the damage done from her old school last year. As a result, my daughter has more confidence and is displaying a a higher aptitude despite the fact that Faith Christian has a more difficult curriculum than the public school from which she came. Parent: Both of my daughters have gone to Jubilee. My older one did K-3rd in public school and she Hated school and was struggling academically. We transferred her to Jubilee for 4th-6th grade and she now Loves learning and has overcome her reading struggles. She graduated from Jubilee with honors. The small class sizes allow the teachers to help each student on an individual level and they make learning Fun for students! I also appreciated the emotional and spiritual support the teachers and staff gave to my daughters throughout the years. It has been a blessing to have a place to send my kids where they can grow in their faith and academics. We have also loved their hands on learning approach and the monthly field experiences are Awesome and add so much to the curriculum. I cannot say enough good things about this school. Parent: PUCS has been an amazing educational choice for our family. Our kids are known and cared for in an incredibly personal way. The teachers put in so much time to meet each student where he/she is at and then challenge them from that point. They emphasize strong academics, but more importantly they focus on teaching the whole child. My kids love the various units they get to explore. There is a great sense of wonder in everything they are learning. I feel so comforted knowing that their teachers are walking alongside my kids in their Christian journey - discipling them and praying for them. The community at PUCS is also top-notch. Alum: I have went 4 different elementary schools in my childhood, Rhema was the best. The teachers were kind, compassionate and fair. The school offered a lot of help to one of my siblings who had been struggling with a memory problem in his early years. My fellow classmates that I met years later, had grown up to be fine decent people, a few of them went on to do missionary work. Parent: The only reason our family was sad to move out of the state was because of Praise Christian Academy. Our family loved this school! All of the teachers and staff are incredible! As far as academics... our children were greatly prepared for their new school adventure. Our daughter has excellent grades at her new school and our son recently received his acceptance letter to a private school that only accepts a very small amount of students.
