Alum: I am a recent graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran class of '21 and I had the best times at Wisco! Going into high school I played volleyball and basketball along with being involved in everything music. I loved my time at Wisco because of the different opportunities I was given through the classes and extra curricular clubs and sports we had. My favorite thing however, is how diverse Wisco is. I went to school with kids from a variety of different backgrounds. We had over 10 countries apart of our student body along with other cultures and ethnicities. I learned how to interact with people who come from a very different background and lifestyle than I did and I learned how to live side by side with them and stick up for them when the world tears them apart. Parent: Caring teachers, lifelong friendships, challenging academics, and excellent athletics and arts programs! My wife and I couldn't be happier with the choice we made to enroll our kids at SLHS. They went to public school K-8 and we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and caring vibe from teachers, staff, and students alike at Shoreland. Our kids frequently say "thank you" to us for enrolling them here (what more could a parent want?). The school has really upped their game in the last couple of years, adding one of the best STEM programs in the state (with champion robotics teams), a great trades program, and an academically rigorous program overall. The student body is surprisingly diverse both in ethnicity and religious background. Their Wisconsin State Report Card "exceeds expectations." Junior: My family is Christian and my parents truly value Christian education. Heritage teaches all classes from a Christian perspective while also giving insight on other views and teaches you how to ask good questions about your faith. Heritage is rather small compared to other schools and when I first started attending, I didn’t feel as though I quite fit. It took time for me to adjust, but then again none of the other new students seemed to have this problem so it could just be me. I joined student council to help change the atmosphere of the school and grow school spirit, I feel that I have. I have started many new events and feel that school at class spirit are at a new high. It was a rough start for me as the new kid at Heritage, but I now see Heritage as my home away from home and have made many lifelong friends. Senior: I’ve attended Believers in Christ for nine years of my life. Thanks to this school and its procedures in learning I’m am more sagacious Ingres and egress the school. The teachers not only care for your classwork, but they also care for your well-being outside of schooling. I enjoy being enrolled at Believers in Christ because the environment isn’t crowded, the staff is warmhearted and smart, and the school offers me enough time and space to become the best me I could be. If there was one thing I would like to change about the school it would be the amount of physical education we receive. People would think getting more time for study rather than running around would be beneficial, but now that I am a senior and I am soon to be leaving for college I now understand that having the extra curriculum activity would be more beneficial. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we have chapel with the entire school and find ways to connect to the students in our daily lives. Before every class period starts we open with a word of prayer or thought to engage us beforehand. My school also has other ways in which they give great opportunities to students including Career Academy, Art Academy, Honors Academy and Free Enterprise Academy. Senior: I absolutely love Calvary! The staff and faculty are wonderful, the kids are unique and fun to get to know. All of your core subjects are taught at an Honors level, and are taught with unique and different approaches. It's small, but you do get to know everyone, and it becomes your second family. The values and morals that are taught are in line with the Word of God, which is extremely important, and every subject is taught centered around Christ. Calvary also offers foreign exchange students to enroll and hear about God's Word and the gospel. The only thing that would add to the school would be more advance placement and dual-enrollment opportunities. That would be very beneficial to students, and extremely helpful for the next big steps that juniors and seniors would take in the future, should they choose to do so. Parent: Imagine moving your child from a safe 2-room rural school of 24 to a city school of 240 in a trendy city neighborhood. Imagine being the 12-year-old who had to face it. But from Day 1 our son was embraced and supported by the faculty / staff and the boys in his new middle school. As a rhetoric major at UWEC he interned for Tesla as a technical writer. Tesla! Today he is a technical writer for Rockwell Automation and still has a wide-ranging variety of interests in sciences, technology, literature and the arts. His successful career is a testament to the stellar STEM, ELA and arts education he received at Saint Lucas. We couldn't have asked for more for our son, and we feel so blessed that Saint Lucas was part of the foundation for the decent, loving, successful adult he is today. We cannot recommend Saint Lucas highly enough, not only for its award-winning STEM program, but for the support and love they, as a community, give to the families who walk through their doors.... Alum: My experience at St. Marcus Lutheran School was extraordinary. I was able to get an excellent education from St. Marcus when weather conditions didn't permit surrounding schools to be open. As this is true, I developed the ability to focus and learn when it was physically hard to. The most important thing that I like about this school is that it offers a Christian education for all students to receive, as they need it. God is awesome, and he aids scholars to grow in school behavior wise and academically. One thing that this school can change is snack time for certain students. Alum: This school was very nice and had a loving community. However, there were definitely a couple of issues with bullying and name-calling, which made some of my years there quite sad.
