Parent: We have three children attending Whitefield and cannot say enough great things about it! The environment in this school is so wonderful because of the teachers and staff that are incredible people but also extremely gifted in what they do. One thing that stands out is how it has gently challenged our children in a way that has developed grit, critical thinking, and a joy for learning. Senior: Coming to Maranatha from a public school made a huge difference in my education. I am so glad I have had the privilege of learning from a Christian education. Most of the teachers and staff are kind and helpful and are always open to answering your questions. Some people in leadership need to be replaced and currently, Maranatha is in the process of doing that. Sports programs can definitely become better, but being on a team with the MCA community is great. I wish Maranatha had a counselor so the students could come talk to him/her about personal problems instead of burying the teachers with their problems. Senior: I think this school doe a good job at preparing their students to go out into the world as loving, and intentional human beings. Whether you believe in Christianity or not, it is a warm and inviting place to be a part of. It's a very open, and compassionate community, and very loving. Senior: Christ Prep Academy is an amazing school. It is small and low-budget for most things, but the staff and student culture more than make up for it. My freshman year was when COVID hit, and I think the school handled things very well. We continued school on zoom for the rest of the year and the following year we went back to in person school. The first semester was pretty cautious with everyone wearing masks and dividers on the tables. But there were no huge COVID outbreaks at the school. The staff seem to really enjoy working there, and they do their best to walk alongside the student and help them succeed. I went through a time where I needed a lot of academic help, and the school made sure I had access to what I needed in order to excel. Being a private school, the tuition costs are fairly high, but I believe it is worth it. Senior: I really enjoy going to this school. The academics are tough but they get students ready for college, (especially our high school English courses). It is a smaller school so students are able to have good relationships with their teachers. The teachers really care about the heart condition and life that their students live. We have weekly chapels with speaks from all over Missouri and the world, (missionaries). Great personal relationships with GREAT teachers. The girls and boys volleyball, basketball, track, science Olympiad, and scholar bowl teams are open to high school students and middle school students in their own divisions. We also have merged our cheer squad and football team with St. Joseph Christian. There is after school care for elementary school students and a spring musical which is fantastic! Junior: I'm currently a junior at Eagle Heights Christian School and I first started going here a couple of years ago as a freshman. I would say my experience overall has been pretty well. There were definitely some leadership problems at first, but since then they have really improved and are very dedicated to making sure the students are receiving an excellent education. It is a tiny school so it feels more like a large tutoring session most of the time, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. There are some cons regarding extracurriculars. The extracurricular activities available are very inconsistent. Meaning sometimes there is girl's basketball or volleyball, and other times there are no extracurriculars whatsoever. I think this is due to the low budget and small staff. Parent: We have three kids that attend here and we love it. Small environment so all of the staff know my kids names and truly care, they’re not just a number in a huge school! With the small size, there’s accountability in behavior and grades so my kids are thriving in both areas. The academic rigor is higher than public school but it’s small enough to help the struggling learner too. They have loved getting to play sports and be in theater. The administration has been excellent in handing situations that have arrived and seem to truly care. I wish they had more elective options for high school but that’s the trade off at a small school. Other: I was a grandparent type volunteer this year at SNA helping wherever the teachers needed me. Mainly I listened to students read. I was very impressed how quickly the students progressed because of all the individual attention. These are incredible teachers who not only made sure each student reached their academic level, but they taught them to think for themselves, make wise decisions, resolve conflict, and become leaders. Niche User: I went to CLS in 4 year old preschool and stayed through 6th grade, and I LOVED IT!!! I only left because I was moving, and I have not been able to find a school just as phenomenal. You make life long friends at CLS, and even after three years past my departure, I'm still in touch with all my classmates and most of my teachers, too! At my current school, I have been placed 3 years ahead in math, and 2 years ahead in english, language, and grammar because of the fabulous classical education CLS gave me. Shirley English(grammar)and Spaulding (spelling and handwriting) really helped prepare me for applying and being accepted to advanced courses in high school. You come out of CLS with preparation for high school and college you never thought you could have in middle school. I love the school, teachers, students, and most of all, the CLS family! Parent: Love the wholesome, classic academic curriculum. Very little screen time which has been proven to be better for kids’ development , especially for social skills for young children. Discipline & expectations are present. Small class sizes, and teachers are free to focus on teaching the academic material and not hampered by other “mandatory” requirements in typical state curriculum. Multiple subjects covered daily in a very efficient 7 hour schedule. School sports and that associated camaraderie & team building skills start at an earlier age compared to the local public school district (sports don’t start until 7th grade in Park Hill). Children are loved and valued and allowed to soar. Parents are encouraged to be involved & parent & family volunteers are welcome and needed. Family values are core values. Parent: Outreach is an amazing school family! I am an alumni and I love my time and memories from Outreach. I now have 3 children who all attend Outreach School or Early Academic Center. My oldest is in 4th grade. She loves her school! They always have an amazing staff, so patient and caring . I have loved all the teachers that have worked with my oldest. I love the one on one time she gets with her teachers. I know she needs that time with them. I love that she is surrounded by a Godly atmosphere every day. She is such a confident, happy, and well balanced kid... I know Outreach plays a big part in that. My middle daughter just finished Outreach pre-K and is reading fluently, she starts kindergarten at Outreach this school year. I’m so excited for her !
