Alum: At Groton, I feel that I have been able to become a more independent and conscientious person during my time at this school. The best thing about this school is the resources that it provides the students. Here, I feel that I can be whoever I like because the teachers, dorm parents, coaches, and community is supportive of everyone's quirks, interests, and dreams. The teachers are approachable and dedicated, and work hard to provide students with a positive experience and I have made some of the truest and most diverse background friends. However, while at my time here, I have noticed that there is a toxically competitive culture here. Moreover, sometimes it is hard to get leadership positions in clubs because one has to be "connected" or popular, and the unsafe hook-up culture NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED! Parent: I have two Children who attend Brooks. Both are 4 year boarders. The opportunity each of them has been given in attending Brooks as been incredible. They have been challenged in and out of the classroom. The academics are challenging, but are done in an environment that is always supportive, with a lot of encouragement to strive to be and do your best. My children have forged wonderful relationships with many of their teachers, advisors and coaches; ones that will last a lifetime. The school is very warm and welcoming, and has the feel of being "home". Athletics at Brooks are a great compliment to the academics. Brooks is always competitive in so many of their athletic teams. Brooks transitioned so quickly and so well to online learning during this past Spring when schools were forced to close. Parent: Our family has been a part of the Lexington Christian Academy community for five years. Our child is in the Upper School, is thriving and loves LCA. 2020 has been a year like no other and LCA has risen to the challenge to provide an excellent education. When the pandemic hit, LCA was able to pivot to online learning within a couple of weeks. The administration and teachers worked tirelessly to create a learning experience as close to what is provided in-person at LCA. The technology, support, consistent communication to all parents and students was in place. This school year, LCA has been in-person with some remote days. The transition between the two has been seamless. LCA has taken all the necessary precautions to allow students and staff to be in-person at LCA. Smaller student cohorts, daily health checks, clear safety guidelines, and social distancing have given us confidence in sending our child to LCA. We highly recommend Lexington Christian Academy!... Senior: Though I am almost done with my time here at Boston Trinity, this is my home. This is my family. With our new covid protocols, we have lost a lot of the aspects that make the community what it always is but I wouldn't want to be in any other community during this time. Yes we are stressed, yes we miss a lot of our typical activities, yes this was so unexpected and sad but our school has dedicated all of their energy to salvage what they can of our small tight knit fun loving community. Parent: We currently have 2 children ages 6 & 8 at the Lower School. We couldn't be happier with the Teachers, Administration, Volunteers, and total Community at BCA! Our Kindergartener started reading at 5 years of age after entering the start of the school year not knowing all the letters or sounds. Our 2nd Grader is excelling at reading, math, and takes piano offered at the school! The teacher to student ratio is unmatched and the BCA community is personal, available, and supportive. My children's favorite time of the day (besides recess) is bible study. They cannot get enough of the stories! Teachers are able to give their personal attention to those who need it. Works Here: I feel abundantly blessed to work at Calvary Chapel Academy. The staff is like a family and all support one another in Christ through all of life's ups and downs. We're encouraged to teach students not just teach subjects, reaching each student individually, seeking to build ambassadors for Christ who are also ready to be productive members of society. Where some schools seem to emphasize academics over spirituality or vice versa, Calvary Chapel Academy successfully emphasizes both. Parents have told me innumerable amounts of times how blessed they are with the self-sacrifice of the teachers and how thankful they are to have their children in a godly environment where they are also getting a great education. Our child joined the school in 6th grade, and we have found it to be a nurturing environment where he has the freedom to learn without many of the distractions found in public schools today. Parent: I have 2 children enrolled at Bethany Christian Academy. The small class size and compassionate teachers ensure a quality experience for each and every student. My Kindergartener is reading well above expectations and can efficiently and independently work on math addition and subtraction. They push math here (in a good way) and offer a variety of enrichment programs after school. Alum: I am a recent graduate of New Beginnings Academy, as I graduated in 2017. I am now taking online classes for the University of Maryland for my Bachelors in Digital Media and Web Technology , and I truly believe that I would not have made it through high school if it were not for New Beginnings Academy. My thoughts on this school can be summarized in one sentence: It changed my life. I transferred to New Beginnings Academy halfway through my sophomore year of high school, and it was one of the best things that ever happened to me.
