Alum: I am an alum of the class of 2021. I attended Episcopal for 7 years. I switched from Episcopal from a highly rated public school. The facilities at Episcopal are unmatched by other high schools both academic and athletic. While the facilities are unbelievable, Episcopal is made special by the of the staff of the students. Everything I experienced at Episcopal was amazing with the exception of the administration. The administration does not think through a lot of decisions and is not respected by the students and a lot of parents because of the incompetence. Other than the current administration tearing down what previous administrations have built alongside a great community of students and alumni, the school is unmatched by any high school in the area and a lot of universities.... Senior: During my 5 years at Northlake, I've been in a great environment where everyone wants you to succeed. Northlake is a college preparatory school, so faculty and peers push each other to excel. Everyone encourages each other to pursue their goal, and are willing to help each other to get there. Northlake is a small school, so everyone gets along and there aren't many cliques. Because of the more petite student body, students are able to get more one-on-one time with teachers to help with subjects. It is easy to see how much the faculty cares for their students and how much the students care for their faculty. There are many extracurriculars to get involved in and the food is great; giving three different options for lunch every day, ( they also serve breakfast in the morning). Parent: My daughter had been attending this school since she was 2 years old. I've seen how far she had grown in knowledge and structure thanks to the teaching staff. The teachers are very sweet and patient when helping out with different subjects. Not to mention, the website is very resourceful given that it provides information for each grade level segment. Each time I had a question regarding extracurricular activities, events and enrollment, I got a quick response in the clear way possible. My daughter will be graduating from Pre-K in two months and there are not enough words to describe how thankful I am that the overall assessment of this school is excellent! Alum: I went to OCS for 13 years!! It was honestly so good for me. Not only were the academics great, but so were the sports. The teachers and coaches both cared for the students on and off of the campus. This made it so special to all of the students. Unlike most schools, the staff cared about our future. Junior: I’ve enjoyed my time here at WCA! I’ve only got one more year, so I’m pretty excited to be a Senior. Though our school has some flaws, I wouldn’t trade it for anywhere else. It gives me a good Christian education and I’ve got good friends. The administration has been a bit corrupt as of lately, but we are fixing the majority of that so I might update this next school year if I can. And music and art isn’t much here. We don’t have a music teacher (we haven’t the past few years). We’ve got a chapel band, and a drumline. There’s art and theater if you’re into that. The academics is phenomenal. You will definitely be up for a challenge some days though, but it’s very rewarding. Sports is extremely important, it overshadows most other things. This isn’t to say academics isn’t emphasized. Senior: I have been at Ascension Christian schools since I was in K4. Things I like about the school is that as do chapel every Friday and it is a good Christian environment. Another thing I like is other than public schools the teachers here can go their on past on their lesson and make sure every kid understands the lesson and they won’t let them fail or struggle on anything. Senior: Hamilton has an excellent school culture. Everyone knows each other because of the low enrollment. The class sizes are small so students can get more one on one assistance. The teachers are nice and knowledgeable about the subjects they teach. At one time each student had a computer to take home but the school discontinued it. Senior: Many of the teachers at Grace Christian School are highly experienced with a love for their students and a passion for teaching. I really enjoy the small classroom environment because it allows the students to interact with the teacher and each other. We may not have football, but we have a wide variety of other sports. Our lunch is catered by a variety of restaurants near the school. I like this because it allows me to choose the meals that I like from high-quality restaurants. Something I would like to change is the number of dual enrollment courses. I think that it would be beneficial for Juniors and Seniors to have more dual enrollment classes offered. Senior: Personally, I think that First Baptist is an amazing school. I have attended First Baptist since the third grade and the school is capable of creating an almost family-like environment. One is able to form friendships that will last a life-time; this includes the teachers and staff. Everyone is very friendly and the students will be very sad when any loved teacher has to retire. The academics are thoroughly explaining, as the teachers are capable of giving one-on-one assistance to students who need help grasping a topic. Senior: I entered into PCA my freshman year. I believe that it is one of the best educations a student can receive. The teachers are all former professionals in their field (the chemistry teacher was a chemist at a major lab for 15+ years, the English teacher has published many works, etc). The teachers put massive amounts of energy into their lesson plans and take lots of personal time to help struggling students. I could not rate the teaching any hire. Absolutely Excellent! The school is incredibly religious, so take that with a grain of salt when considering if you want to send a student there. They WILL be pressured to convert if they are not already a Christian. (Daily GRADED theology classes, mandatory chapel, etc.) If you are a Christian then it is a very supportive environment. School spirit is pathetic. Basically no sports. Senior: My experience with Highland Baptist has been a very good one for the most part. Since Highland is a smaller private school, you receive personal teaching tailored more towards your success and education. Classes tend to be more one on one, since they have less students. Junior: I went through a very difficult time in my life before I came to WOGA, I honestly did not like myself and I did not want to live anymore. I felt no worth, and I didn't know God. I came to Word of God Academy my freshmen year and my whole life changed. I came from a public school that will remain anonymous, where the classes had about 30 students and almost all of the teachers did not care about the students. My first year at WOGA had about seven students in my grade and all of the teachers wanted to know everything about me. Everyone made me feel extremely comfortable right away. Parent: CP has been the best decision for our family. Our son has been there since pre-k 3 and moving into 6th grade next year. We could not have asked for a better educational experience for him. His teachers have genuinely loved him, while also teaching valuable life skills to go along with his great faith-based education. The school offers so much more than an education that we as parents simply did not have growing up. We have been a part of the CP family since the great floods of 2016 and know the struggles all of us faced during those times. It is amazing to see God’s work bringing this school from a scattered campus occupying 3 different churches to a brand new school campus with state of the art technology.
