Parent: We were considering a few other Atlanta area private schools few years ago and upon research and talking to experienced parents/faculty, we had chosen Westminster over others at the time. This is our 6th year at Westminster and we have been very pleased with our decision! The school thoroughly plans the curriculum for each grade level and continues to provide a challenging yet very supportive and caring environment for students. My child has really thrived at Westminster under its rigorous program, their teaching philosophy, unlimited resources, wide choices of extra-curricular activities and their athletic program! It's truly school that pushes a student to do their very best in not just academics and sports but also in the community to make a difference and be a well-rounded individual! No doubt the school is highly selective in student body and faculty; and they take the admission process seriously. Parent: Our children started GAC in 6th and 9th. After a year and a half I’m very impressed with the leadership, teachers, academics, and co-curriculars. Our children are very different; one is academic & artsy and one loves sports more than school. We chose GAC because it would be a great fit for both. As we go into the second semester of year 2, both kids are thriving! They have found great community and tried new things. My athletic child has discovered a passion in film editing and my theatre kid played 2 sports! We are thrilled to see them grow academically, spiritually, and socially. Our 6th grader was behind in math when she arrived due to covid /public school and because of great teachers, encouraging administrators she is now in honors math with an A. Parent: We have children who have been In Early Learning, now in Lower School, through Middle and now in Upper School. I say this to say that our favorite Rabun Gap “why” is the community. Every division of the school is thriving and my kids have interacted with others from their hometown to around the world. Our oldest transferred from another school where he had really no connection to the student life and has totally been transformed at Rabun Gap. He has close friends, plays on sports teams, has been on the Honor Roll every trimester and is truly thriving. Parent: Academically, we love the approach to learning and assessment. Teachers give detailed feedback and assess with a rubric. Students know what’s expected in advance. Our oldest (who can be an overachiever) keeps working to achieve the "advanced" description. Our youngest (who can be comfortable doing the minimum) can see how to keep working and stretch. From a community standpoint, we love that MV values diversity of thought, backgrounds, and experiences. Our children are learning to find connections and celebrate differences. Lastly, we love the school norms: start with questions, assume the best, share the well, fail up, and have FUN! In February we were away for a long weekend with another family who attends a school out of town. Their children’s holiday was one day longer than ours and we had to leave early. Alum: As a recent graduate of KHCS, I only have great things to say about my time there. I didn't fully appreciate or understand what I had until college application season came around. While many students have a fear that they do not do enough in their high school career, I felt so well-rounded because KHCS offers so many opportunities for me to be involved. There is a successful fine arts programs including acting, choir, band, and competitions. Many clubs such as Math Club, Quiz Bowl, or even being able to run my own club. There are a multitude of sports and willing coaches who made it easy to start a sport. It was all a matter of me being willing to try what was available to me. I especially appreciated our small tight-knit community that allowed me to develop a good teacher-student relationship with many of my teachers so when it came time to ask for recommendations I had so many people who had great words to say about me. Parent: Providence Christian Academy has been my family’s second home for 3 years now. My husband and I prayed for a diverse environment where our students could grow confidently in their faith, learn to navigate life as testifying Christ-followers, and feel comfortable in their own skin. Like all schools, there has been some transition during our time here, and there is room for growth. While our student body is very diverse, I do wish our administration and faculty mirrored that diversity. Alum: I graduated from NCCS & believe it was the best investment/sacrifice my parents made for me. The life-long friendships I have from NCCS are ones I will forever be grateful for. While most of our learning incorporated some sort of Christian focus, this never took away from the rigorous & challenging courses here (a common christian school assumption!). I can't emphasize enough how well we were prepared for college- both academically and spiritually. As I got to college, it didn't take me long to notice the difference in education experience between my friends & I (how to study & how to defend my faith were the most obvious things). S/O to my teacher who gave me her marketing book my senior year because she saw something in me that I couldn't. She guided me down my career path before I even knew what it was. Alum: I went to SCPS for the entirety of my pre-college education. Nursery through Senior year of high-school. The teachers and faculty are the best around. It is hard to find people who so obviously care about not only the education your child is receiving but the well- being of your child as a whole. The education in itself is beyond excellent.
