Parent: Absolutely top notch school . Our junior (11th grade) joined in 6th grade and it has been very socially fulfilling and academically rigorous but with support systems in place as needed. Over the last five years in this community we have seen our daughter become more confident, more motivated and focused while showing great kindness and humility to those around her. Junior: St. Albans has taught me time management skills because we are required to play a sport every season and practices end around 6. It truly is a strenuous environment academically but the friends you make in your years here make it all worthwhile. Knowing you aren’t the only person struggling or going through rigorous tests and papers makes it all more bearable. Other traditions like the BEEF Club, family style lunches, and chapels in the little sanctuary bring everyone closer together and really make you feel at home. Parent: As the parent of two children in the lower school, I am extremely pleased with SSSAS. The Early Saints teachers make each day engaging for my 3-year-old. The monthly units the ES learn have prompted my son to apply what he’s learned to the world around him (the food unit they completed prompts a nightly discussion about which foods on his plate are muscle foods, brain foods, etc.). His teachers started a recent parent conference with 3 very specific adjectives to describe my son and given the examples they gave me, it is clear that really understand him as a whole child. My experiences with JK and K were also nothing short of fantastic; even during the pandemic the teachers were able to connect with my son. The K and 1st grade teachers have also provided my son a solid educational foundation; they have identified his strengths and given additional challenging work so that he hasn’t been bored. Works Here: TSMV is a beautiful community. The academics are rigorous and thorough, giving students a better education than most college graduates would have, but learning is treated as something good in itself, not just a means to an end. Parent: Ad Fontes Academy has been an absolute blessing for our family. Our daughters love the school and we are thrilled with the quality of the Christ-centered education. We are a military family and moved to Virginia with high school and middle school aged children. Moving at their ages is difficult, but Ad Fontes helped make the transition as easy as we have ever experienced. The teachers and administrators truly love the children. The students have been exceptionally welcoming. The upper school retreat at the beginning of the year was a blessing and allowed our daughter to meet and be welcomed by a new group of friends before classes even started. Parent: It’s the right place for my children. They have been there since kindergarten and now my oldest is a senior. High quality education that uses the Abeka and BJU curriculums. Teachers have their educational degree and are committed to teach and mentor the students. Every year they incorporate new experiences to the students. Despite Covid-19, the school was able to provide in person schooling very early and implement safety protocols without issues or need to closed again.
