Senior: During my 5 years at Northlake, I've been in a great environment where everyone wants you to succeed. Northlake is a college preparatory school, so faculty and peers push each other to excel. Everyone encourages each other to pursue their goal, and are willing to help each other to get there. Northlake is a small school, so everyone gets along and there aren't many cliques. Because of the more petite student body, students are able to get more one-on-one time with teachers to help with subjects. It is easy to see how much the faculty cares for their students and how much the students care for their faculty. There are many extracurriculars to get involved in and the food is great; giving three different options for lunch every day, ( they also serve breakfast in the morning). Senior: Personally, I think that First Baptist is an amazing school. I have attended First Baptist since the third grade and the school is capable of creating an almost family-like environment. One is able to form friendships that will last a life-time; this includes the teachers and staff. Everyone is very friendly and the students will be very sad when any loved teacher has to retire. The academics are thoroughly explaining, as the teachers are capable of giving one-on-one assistance to students who need help grasping a topic. Senior: I enjoy attending John Curtis Christian School because it is a small family-orientated school that treats everyone like family. The teachers and staff are helpful and want to see the students succeed in their education and future. The school has high energy when showing school spirit. They encourage all students to participate in clubs and groups and attend functions to support and show school spirit. John Curtis also does fundraisers and collects items to help the communities in need after a disaster, such as tornados, hurricanes, floods, illnesses, and holiday baskets for the needy. I appreciate John Curtis offering dual enrollment for their honor students to take advantage of completing LSU college classes while attending high school. This program gives students a head start on the introductory courses needed in their first year of college. Senior: My first year in Lutheran High school was during Covid and it was in person learning instead of online but the teachers and staff did everything in their power to maintain a safe environment for the students while giving us a the opportunity to experience the high school year. The teachers are very easy to talk to and very helpful, if I ever needed help with anything the teachers were very welcoming and open to hear what I had to say and talk to me about it. Throughout my junior year (my first year there) I got to know all the teachers and I could tell that they understood our struggles during the pandemic so they made days where we would play games and come to school wearing pajama, they would also give us activities in class so we wouldn't be stressed out about classwork and homework. This is my second year at Lutheran High School and my last year here as well and I am glad to say that I will be graduating here as a senior.
