Sacramento New Technology High School
#175 Best Charter High Schools in California
Freshman: The teachers at Sac New Technology High School are very helpful and have classes typically under thirty students. The teachers strive to make students successful with a very small learning environment of under or around 200 students. Many of the students are bilingual between Spanish and English and are willing to help each other in either language. Students work together at large group tables rather than desks, and are able to move freely around the classroom. Much of the work is project based, and students have four classes per semester. Students are able to work at their own pace -- more advanced students are able to take classes with other advanced students and upperclassmen, however there are no AP or Honors classes. The school has a few clubs, and students are allowed to create one of their own if supervision of a staff or faculty is present. Dances are held multiple times throughout the year in order to fundraise for the school, along with other fundraisers.
