Senior: I came to Harding Charter Preparatory High School in 2019 as a freshman with no friends. I did not know what to expect, but I knew it would be a significant change from my previous school based on Harding's excellent academic reputation. I was quickly welcomed with open arms and taken under the wings of the teachers. I was not treated as just another student but felt a personal connection with everyone. Harding has been my home for the past four years, and I have loved every minute of it. The workload was sometimes intense, but it was all worth it and has paid off. Thanks to Harding Charter Preparatory High School, the teachers, and the students, I now have 13 college acceptances and will attend postsecondary education for free. Senior: This school has an amazing community and family environment within the people that attend. The staff and students are all very nice and make everything more comfortable and easy to attend the school. Parent: This is the most incredible school. I have 2 boys and they are both receiving an excellent education. The school is strict with their policies but that is why we moved our children there. Our boys want to learn and not be distracted by students that think they can be rude or get away with disrespecting their teachers. They follow a curriculum that is getting your children ready for college entrance exams. At this young of an age, there is plenty of opportunities for sports outside of school. Alum: My high school experience was like any other high school experience, except for the fact that my school was more of a tight knit community, or a family. TSAS, when I was there, was not the high school + middle school it is now, and that is what makes it so great, they always believed in room for improvement, growth. Our mascot is a phoenix, if that isn't enough! It was never that "hoity-toity" high school everyone was dying to get into, but once you get there, learn about yourself and grow a little you start to realize that going to THAT school isn't what it's about. Sophomore: So far, I think that Dove Science Academy High School is a school where us students get the opportunity to focus more on our future, academically, socially, and personally. This school mainly focuses on helping students graduate high school and strive for their future in college. I would recommend this school to anyone that would want to succeed in their college life or their future in general. Dove High School gives their students the opportunity to participate in clubs, events, community service, etc. So far, I have not yet participated in any, but I do hope to join some events for the upcoming year.... Senior: My experience has been great! Through their concurrent enrollment program, I was able to take college classes as a high school student -- earning an associates degree. I met wonderful teachers that care about their students. My peers are a mixed of hard working individuals that value their education. My school, however, is not a traditional high school. For example, my school heavily focuses on academics, removing the excitement in being a high schooler. Senior: From my experience, I enjoy OVCA. This school has helped me learn how to create a schedule and have time management. I have the opportunity to work full-time at my job since I have a flexible schedule. I get the chance to work ahead in my assignments, which helps me not worry about future assignments. I also enjoy the unique electives in high school such as sociology, criminology, anthropology, web design, hospitality & tourism etc. We also have no classes on Fridays which I am grateful for because I get to work on my projects all day. Since this is a virtual school, I don't have to worry about waking up early in the morning to get ready for a live session. I can finally fix my sleeping schedule! I also appreciate the teachers and staff in this school. I understand it can be difficult when it comes to communicating with students or parents. Sophomore: Dove Science Academy Tulsa High School is a STEM focused charter school that works hard to prepare its students for college. Although the school may be small, there is still a variety of classes where teachers can work one on one with their students to prepare them for their future and to help them in their studies. The school consists of many honor and AP classes as well as the opportunity to take college classes while in High School. There are many teachers who are willing to go out of their way to motivate their students to set them up for their future. Despite the excellent STEM classes that this school provides, there isn't great funding for sports or more art classes (although we do have a great art class still), but the majority of this is simply because of the lack of funding and the primary focus of this school. Alum: My overall experience with Epic Charter High School was fairly decent due to the fact that it was online and the flexibility it offered for my schedule was great. You are still assigned a teacher that schedules your assignments and when they're due, but you do have the option do get through courses faster if you'd like, which I think is a great option. Since this is an online school, you are at home doing your schooling, so you don't have any extra curricular activities since there is no campus. However, the school does provide a certain amount of funds to use towards extra curricular activities and supplies of your choosing. For instance, I was able to take dance classes at a local dance studio and purchase supplies on Amazon using my funds. So that was very nice. The main issue I had with Epic was their lack of organization at an administrative level. They could be more organized in planning events and activities such as Senior Grad Night.
