Parent: Cross Creek Charter Academy is an amazing school! The teachers and staff are wonderful and do such a fantastic job at helping all children succeed in their education. Senior: Washtenaw Technical Middle College is an amazing school for diversity. I have noticed that the teachers actually care about their students and make sure that their student have the best professors. The staff loves to motivate and make sure students are passing classes. Whenever I was stuck in a class or felt unmotivated my base advisor was such a big help and helped me. WTMC just wants the best for their students and I love how they take their students mental health seriously. I really recommend this school for people! Middle School Student: Of my time going here for the couple of days I've been here, It's a really good environment. I like how the teachers and staff are very committed to your overall success as a student. I would recommend this school to anybody that has a child that is considering, or anyone that wants to send their child to a school of excellence and believes in their Childs potential to learn and achieve. There are some Cons though. If you want your child to be in a challenging environment, full of expectations, I would recommend considering a different school. When I first got here, I noticed that the curriculum wasn't very challenging. I was then moved to Advanced Math. I wish they had more Advanced class options too. So far in Advanced Math, I still haven't had that challenge I've wanted. At my old school, they considered me a gifted and talented student. Parent: I am a parent with 3 kids attending Vanguard Charter Academy. My oldest is in 8th grade and started when she was on kindergarten. I also have a 5th grader and a 1st grader. We love the staff and teachers. I personally live that we feel apart of a community and have support if needed. Parent: WMAA was the best high school experience for my son Connor. He graduated in 2023 in the top 10 of his class. They really pushed him in the way of Academics. The teachers really fostered growth and allowed for such a wonderful environment to learn in. In addition, he participated in Science Olympiad and the sponsors were outstanding and dedicated so much time to preparing the students for competition. Senior: I was very lucky that my name was selected in the Black River "lottery" in kindergarten. I have had an awesome education in the Montessori elementary school, and then the middle/high school building. Having small classes helped me stay focused and get more personalized help from my teachers. The thing I would like to see change is building the athletic department. High School Sophomore: I loved this school! Even though there were uniforms, I still loved it! The fact that this school is small makes it feel like everyone is family! Parent: We love Holly Academy, but it definitely is a commitment for both the parents and kids. We like the curriculum - pushing our kids to do their best. Parent: My 2 kids are different types of students. With this school & our family working as a team they both get what they need. The communication is wonderful at Keystone. In order for things to be good for all parties involved communication is key! I am also grateful for their ability to listen & act. They love feedback! It’s a good community. My 1st has been there since Kindergarten & my second since Young 5’a. My oldest is now in 7th grade & my yougest in 4th. Sophomore: I wasn't doing too good at my old school. My grades were very bad and I got kicked out but then I found out there was a preparatory high school don't the street from me. So at the beginning of their second semester, I was able to start school and adapt to their learning style. I found out while at this school that I wanted to be a photographer with an entrepreneur degree. But that is not the only good part I started to get better grades because they took the time to help me understand the work than just rushing through it. Senior: I would recommend Grand River Prep High School to any student wanting to challenge themselves in academics, however even an average student who doesn't want to challenge themselves can succeed. The school offers a variety of AP course included AP Calculus AB/BC with an addition of one hour of study time to any students taking three AP course or more. Tutoring are available twice a week. On Mondays after school, students can participate on a club of their choice or they can use that time for tutoring. Throughout sports sessions, the gym is mostly open to students wanted to train for conditioning or just want to workout. So the school is great, there is rare fighting breakout, the stuff is awesome, students are pretty diverse, I've had a good experience finishing my second of high school at Grand River Prep....
