Senior: My time at eStem has been the safest school experience I’ve ever had, as well as with the best teachers. As transgender student, I never felt myself alienated by the staff, and despite the transphobia among some of my peers, I found support within many of my classmates as well. However, the administration, although well-meaning, is frankly suffocating. It is often very difficult not to feel as though, as a student, you’re just a test score or a career plan and the school only really cares about you as long as one of those aspects can be used as a trophy. I would like to briefly acknowledge the Content Lab schedule, as I think that it’s a fantastic way to break up the school week with either a period of fun and enrichment or a period of extra academic help that may not have been gotten otherwise due to time constraints after school....
