Parent: We are very pleased with Hampstead Hill. Our son is currently attending 1 st grade. His teachers are smart, enthusiastic, genuinely interested in the kids success and progress, seem to be very tuned in with each child's individual way of learning, great motivators. HHA has a well-oiled gifted program enabling gifted kids to learn multiple grades above their age. Our son loves going there and we love hearing his daily updates. They have an abundance of extra-curricular activities for the kids, many of which are totally free! Parent: The Green Vale School offers an excellent education all around, from a staff who's emphasis is character building, to rigorous classes that will prepare your child for a strong high school experience. We have been part of the Green Vale School community for the last 14 years, with multiple children starting during Early Childhood. We are so happy with the academic education that they received and the great values that GV school instilled in them. The campus is wonderful and spacious, with plenty of newly updated facilities, such as beautiful new gym, library and modern classrooms with smart boards. There are so many great teachers at the Green Vale School, from early childhood to upper school. My children, who graduated, still talk about so many of them! They have resources other Baltimore city public schools don't have such as paid internships, dual enrollment classes, AP classes, and decent sports. The school is small so everybody knows everybody and the school is built like a family. Every teacher and administrators is willing to help solve any problem and with literally anything you need.... Junior: The teachers are excellent, the curriculum is excellent and the staff are beyond amazing. They do everything they can to help the students succeed like 1 on 1 conferences to help with academics, theres after and before school coach classes to help students catch up with studies and just so many other beneficial things to help. The staff show that they really care about seeing the students graduate and succeed in life. They have college visits and the career people come in every month to talk to us about scholarships and college essays. But on the other hand our school is beginning to become understaffed and we need more science instructors. But on the bright side the substitutes are also really well and act as really good substitute teachers. There are also really good courses and activities for the students to indulge in like the sports and asl classes. Parent: We've been at Creative City Public Charter School since it opened in 2013. My oldest finished 5th Grade last year and went on to Ingenuity in middle school. My youngest is currently in 1st grade. We were most attracted to the place-based, project-based curriculum. It really provides an in-depth knowledge of subjects. The other amazing component is the arts-integration. The projects that our children have done using this method have been amazing and really reaches the kids in the way they learn best. I also really appreciate the flexible homework policy. There's no evidence that homework assists learning, especially in the younger grades, so we don't spend time fighting to get worksheets done. We read daily. In the later grades, getting homework was useful in creating a habit that helped prepare for middle school. The teachers and administration are amazing. They are creative, caring and always available. I'm so grateful to have a school like this to send our kids to.... Read 6 reviews
