Senior: After switching from my old elementary school to this school, I found it to be a drastic change. There are different buildings for each category of students (elementary, middle, high) and they're not all that big, however, the intelligence and diversity of this school make up for it! I've made friends of many different cultures and I've never met so many people who are of the same culture as me. I take college classes in addition to my high school classes, and I'm even graduating a year early to get a headstart on college. This school is primarily A student, and 90% of the teachers actually care about their students and prioritize their education. I love my teachers, I could never ask for better ones. Overall, this school is very hard-working, diverse, and the extracurriculars focus on STEM-related activities, but they have cultural and even athletic clubs, too!... Read 188 reviews

Junior: My experience at this school has been pleasant for the most part. The school is academics driven and does a good job at preparing students for standardized testing as well as college level education. I enjoy how easily accessible information regarding dual enrollment and testing is. Administration is also very helpful in meeting with students regarding whatever inquiries they may have. However, when it comes to creative mediums and the arts, there are not many opportunities for students to explore these areas. Other than a few music classes, a drama class, and an art class (all of which are only available to certain grade levels), the school does not do much to promote or expand the arts department. There are also not many classes that allow high school students to explore different career fields, making it difficult to know which path to pursue after graduation. Junior: Cornerstone is a good school, it has great opportunities and is a sheltered school in which students are able to flourish to the best of their abilities with the help of faculty and staff. Parent: As a parent who is an academic, I couldn't have asked more from Pinecrest Preparatory. It's an excellent school for starting child's education. It's a small school and so has a good family feel. My son who is way past K, still loves his K teacher till date. The academic work is rigorous making the children develop that habit early. Parent: Helpful, caring teachers and staff! We have had 3 children attend RLC all the way from Pre-K through middle school. High standards are set and expected. We have 1 child that struggled with math but her teachers worked with her (and us) to get her on grade level. Tears were shed, but I'm glad we stuck it out and trusted her teachers. It's not for the weak at heart. There's no participation trophy. There's academic success, social growth, and life lessons. Parent: Lake Eola charter is an academic focusing school. Teachers are responsible, parents will be involved in many opportunities. It is not a traditional public school like having athletes teams and have lots of activities I have to admit, but I am surprised that school focus on the academy so much even from the kindergarten. As a downtown oriented school, they utilize orange county library, historic center, and lake Eola park very well. Small class which means teachers know each student’s situation well. Alum: I'm now a high school student and I enjoyed my time at Ivy Hawn. The teachers (most of them) were fantastic, unfortunately most of those who taught me have left. I have a sibling who is currently in their middle school side and she doesn't like it all that much. She's been having trouble with a specific teacher and she's the most respectful, quiet, and enthusiastic student but this teacher has stressed her out beyond belief. Works Here: Minneola Elementary Charter School not only focuses on academics but also makes sure that school is fun. There's multiple fun, dress-up days throughout the year along with family events. Kids enjoy learning and are excited to come to school. The halls are bright and colorful and the teachers and staff work hard to keep kids engaged. Parent: I'm so glad I enrolled my daughter. The transition from elementary to middle is oftentimes daunting, but SLAM! has made the experience beyond amazing! My daughter looks forward to coming to school each day. She gets mad at me, if we're running late, she doesn't want to miss a minute! Its a family environment, with very high academic expectations. The curriculum is rigorous, but they challenge students to rise up to take dual enrollment and accelerated coursework. Excellent academic team, beautiful technology rich campus. Grateful for the coaches and administration who is so hands on. Safety is the administrations #1 priority. Senior: I began my wonderful journey in this school when I started 6th grade. I had just moved to Florida from Puerto Rico and the environment in the school was so much different and there was definitely a language barrier, but this year I graduated as a senior and the staff and teachers helped me through everything. I would recommend this school for any student who is starting middle school and even high school.
