Parent: The teachers are amazing! All the elementary teachers are bilingual, and the school has an amazing full immersion dual language program. STEAM with wonderful art and music tie ins. The enrichment teacher is absolutely wonderful, and has worked with our student in such innovative and seamless ways! The IB program gives the ciriculum a very solid core. Lots of parent involvement! Very diverse extra curricular (Chess, drama, archery) It’s a remarkable school!

Parent: NMIS is a great school that offers a lot of opportunities that traditional public schools do not. I have been very impressed with the IB curriculum as well as the music and art programs. And of course the language immersion program, which was the main reason we chose this school. While sometimes there seem to be gaps in communication between the administration and parents, I've felt like the administration is ultimately responsive to parent concerns. For example, when parents thought that the morning drop off procedures weren't working as well as they could be, the school changed the procedures in response to that feedback. We have been happy with our decision to send our child there and she is learning an incredible amount.

Parent: Our son has attended Alice King Community School since Kinder (now in 4th grade). We absolutely love this school! The teachers that have worked with our son have been amazing! He has a learning difficulty and they have worked with him to help him “catch up” and perform at grade level. He loves his teachers, classmates, and looks forward to going to school every day which is such a blessing. Administration is very responsive if a concern ever comes up. We are very happy!

Parent: My 2nd child is twice exceptional. Meaning he is high functioning autistic & gifted. He works awesomely at MAS because they work with each student on executive function and advance planning. Yet every 20-30 min they have the students move to the next learning center. This breaks up the learning into chunks that most students' bodies & attention spans can handle. My 4th child is dyslexic and has other anxiety issues & is assisted daily with learning to bring her reading up to grade level by reading 40 min a day every day in two - 20 min chunks. I have seen all four of my children bring their grade levels up from below grade level (one at grade level) to ALL above grade level / ADVANCED!

Senior: I have been apart of this school since 6th grade and will be graduating my senior year. This school has opened many opportunities for me throughout my experience here. It has taught me the importance of my culture, and brought together many friends who have become family. This school has properly prepared students for college, but did not only focus on academics, and focused on being a family; caring for other students and being aware of how we treat each other. NACA is still a growing school that started around 10 years ago with a low budget. It started off renting out portables next to a middle school, and then rebuilt an old boarding school, and now is getting a brand new building of it's own. The school is growing adding elementary school and will keep growing. It has become a great place for native americans or anyone else to realize the importance of culture, academics, and family.

Alum: This was the high school I attended, 9th grade - 12 grade. Such an amazing school and all the staff and teachers were amazing. It felt more like a family based school. Everyone knew each other and we all worked as a team to graduate. I highly recommend this school!

Parent: As a first time elementary school parent of a Kindergartner, I am absolutely blown away at what an amazing school Altura Prep is. The teachers and administration are all top-notch. They use innovative teaching methods that thoroughly engage all of the students and they also work on social & emotional learning to help the kids build self-esteem, self-regulation and kindness. Not only is my kid exposed daily to ELA, math and science as main subjects, but he gets daily enrichment with chess and mechanical engineering (from a specialty contract teacher who specializes in these subjects), music, PE and art.

All teachers and administrators are very open, listen to all parent and student concerns, and truly care about each and every student as a whole person.

The school is STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) focused and tries to recruit a very diverse student body (varied ethic heritages, family educational backgrounds, and socioeconomic backgrounds).
