Junior: Gibbons Students live at Gibbons. That doesn't mean that we eat and sleep on campus, although some have tried; it means that this school is where we feel at home. I never get to school after 7:30 am and usually don't leave until 4:30 or 5. That is how welcoming and engaging Cardinal Gibbons is. Between the educators, students, families, athletics, clubs, campus/facilities, and the community at CGHS I would rather be nowhere else. Even though we are a Diocesan Catholic School, the Catholic Faith is not forced upon student. Plenty of student come from other faiths and no one is forced to conform to a certain culture; however, there are still innumerable ways to live out your faith on campus via Mass, service, or the wonderful school Chaplain affectionately known as "Father." Parent: STMA is a truly unique school. The academics, social, and spiritual life of the school is vibrant and refreshing! Three of my children attend STMA and I wish I would have been fortunate enough to have STMA as my high school experience. The academics are challenging and students who want to do well will do well. The spiritual life of the school is truly, faithfully Catholic, not just words or going through the motions. Students are joyful and kind. Teachers and administration care deeply about their students. I trust them immensely and value their hard work and input in my children's lives. I would not send my kids anywhere else for high school or middle school! It is a truly beautiful place where kids learn how to be the people God is calling them to be in all areas of life.... Senior: Bishop McGuinness is a great high school because the faculty know you personally and are always there for you. Anytime I struggled or miss something in class any teacher would gladly step up and help me. Bishop is also a very welcoming school. From the moment I walked through those doors as a freshman the people around me felt like family. The counselors at Bishop are extremely helpful throughout all your four years and especially during the process of applying to colleges. There is also a vast variety of ways to get involved and make friends at Bishop. We have tons of sports, clubs, and arts that one can take part in. Junior: It is a good school with for the most part a loving group of staff and students. The biggest problem the school faces is the admin. The admin are petty and corrupt and won't hesitate to make something fit their specific standards. The school struggles in keeping teachers, which can make it hard to form meaningful connections. Although the diversity is lacking, it is fairly easy to find a group of people to be friends with despite the small class size. The student body is filled of promising individuals and passionate people. There is always something interesting happening and for the most part, coming to school is enjoyable. Despite the competitive classes, most teachers try their best to teach material to their best ability and most have a true passion for their subject and for teaching which really shows. Senior: My Overall Experience with Charlotte Catholic has been a very positive experience in my High School career. The teachers and faculty are all very caring and want their students to succeed in every way shape or form. The ability for a student to come here and succeed is there, if the student has the drive they will be able to achieve their goal. The Guidance Counselors are all knowledgable and understanding of the College Search and Application Process easier and accessible. My Coaches and Teammates love the competitiveness of our division and are always striving to be, and become better. Sophomore: I absolutely love this school! The teachers and students are friendly and there is an amazing sense of community. It is very diverse. The sports are pretty good and it is a very competitive school. They also have many clubs and extracurricular activities to enjoy if you don't participate in sports. The curriculum and classes are very good. They have AP, Honors, and College Prep classes. This school truly prepares you for a life after high school with an amazing school counselor. They are also very strong in their Catholic Faith. They have a chapel with a priest and theology teacher available to talk to you any time you need it. Niche User: From academics to extra-curriculars, this school has it all. My son has been thriving at St. Gabe's, between supportive and caring teachers/support staff to so many different clubs/activities that there is truly something for everyone. They have helped my son thrive academically, spiritually, socially & emotionally and have only fueled his love of learning. The PTO is very active and there are ways for everyone to participate.
