Parent: Cannot rate this school highly enough. my son transferred in after his sophomore year. The school at large, teachers, admin, students alike all welcomed him with open arms and really made him feel like part of the brotherhood immediately. He was an athlete and honor roll student. he is now playing D1 collegiate athletics and feels very confident going into it because of the preparation both in the classroom and on the field, that canisius provided. As a parent I really appreciate the feeling of family that this wonderful place provides. My wife and I consider ourselves honored that we had the privilege to send our son there.... Senior: Nardin is a great private school that offers so many opportunities for their students. The teachers actually want to see they’re students succeed and are always willing to talk with the kids if there is an issue! The small class sizes allow for teachers to truly connect with the kids and the one on one treatment with teachers is great. Also, the school does focus on the children’s well being outside of the classroom, such as mental health and over all happiness! Mental health is extremely important to look after especially with young teenage girls and Nardin does a great job with handling it ! I could never imagine myself somewhere besides Nardin.... Senior: Being a part of this school has been a fundamental stepping stone in my life. Sacred Heart academy has not only taught me curriculums but has also taught me how to be a part of a community. This school has so much to offer, including a challenging curriculum, a welcoming environment, an encouraging staff, and a community based on inclusion and sisterhood. I find myself excited to wake up and start my day as a student at SHA. Without this school, I would not have become the well-rounded, confident, and studious, person I am today. Parent: Choosing St.Francis High School for my 2 sons (Class of 2017 and Class of 2020)was the best decision we made for them. My boys received an excellent education and went to college fully prepared for success. Our boys both found their own way at St. Francis and were able to participate in classes and activities that interested them. They were fortunate to have teachers who CARED and helped them along the way. The small class sizes allow for opportunities to build relationships and focus on student needs. You can be sure that your son will be a priority of the St. Francis teachers and staff. From the administration to the counselors to the teachers to the cafeteria staff, I felt my boys were well taken of and had their needs met. Senior: Mount has provided me with a fantastic education, supportive teachers and great friends. I’m very thankful to have received such wonderful skills, including writing, public speaking, performing, and even business skills as a co-CEO of my own business. On top of this, I’ve made so many memories and have been blessed to watch the school adapt to the ever-changing society of today, with new resources for students and down time around mid-day, models after European classrooms, and a full-time therapy dog. The only reason that I didn’t rate my school five stars is because of the lack of empathy that some students have. At an all girls school, some can be malicious, and seek out to start unnecessary drama. On occasion, teachers aren’t always as helpful as desired. Senior: Cardinal O'Hara High School is full of kind students and caring teachers. It offers classes for students of all levels, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and classes for many different interests, such as an advanced painting class, culinary, and engineering. The teachers really care about their students and their success. When in-person schooling was put on pause during the pandemic, the teachers went above and beyond and taught over Zoom every day with enthusiasm and understanding regarding the difficulty of the new learning methods. Even over Zoom, however, the lessons were still engaging and informative, but still relaxed as everyone was facing a hard situation. Cardinal O'Hara also has monthly masses and has religion classes, which seek to not only teach the Catholic faith but also form caring and informed citizens. Senior: St. Mary's has a very good culture. This culture is created by the faculty. The faculty cares a lot about their jobs and all of their students. They put in a lot of effort and prepare all the students for college. Every teacher there is nice, and kind and will put in extra effort to help any student who needs it. It is very clear that the teachers care about their students and they want them to succeed. The management at St. Mary's is also very good. The administrators are active in the day-to-day life at school and check up with students frequently. They also take their job very seriously and show they care about the school when it comes to the fundraising work they do. They are always trying to get connections that could help the school and the student's education.
