The faculty here are so devoted to us as students in all aspects of life here such as the dorm, in academics, and in our extracurricular endeavors. All of my teachers inspire me and challenge me to think and grow as a student. The academics are rigorous, yet all students are provided with many resources for help and support. Parent: The Hill is an intimate school in a fairly secluded campus on the outskirts of Philly (40 minutes out). It is a special place for the relationships and. Lose was that is fostered between the students, faculty, and administration which creates a sense of belonging. Academically, there are very rigorous programs in STEM, Humanities, Languages (even the classics). Every student will play sports and activities to their ability, and many of the teams perform as state and National contenders. The rivalry with Lawrenceville is mostly tradition, but can lead to some strongly competitive influences at times. The rules are the rules, and if you play by the rules at The Hill there are very few problems in the day-to-day. With that having been said, rule breakers don’t last at this school; deference to the good kids makes for swift action against culprits and trouble makers. Alum: I'm a middle and high school alum currently evaluating SSA for my own children. SSA was a fantastic experience for me, so I was interested to see how the campus or culture had changed over time. By all accounts it has not, and if anything the school is more comprehensively resourced than it was in my day, which is hard to imagine but appears to be true. I still sense the absence of the cut-throat competition among students that sets it apart from some other nationally recognized schools of similar stature. Senior: I have attended Linden Hall now for five years and have only great things to say about my experience. Though it is a small school, Linden Hall allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving the students more confidence when asking questions, allowing them to be more engaged, and providing them with more opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers. Senior: Coming to Westtown has been one of the greatest decisions I have made to date. Westtown has allowed me to gain experience in leadership, as well as build strong bonds with my peers and faculty. The academics are challenging, but not to the point where it consumes you, and there is plenty of support for students. I've had the wonderful opportunity to try new things and explore, and I learn more about myself every day while there. The fact that it is a Quaker school also adds a unique experience to Westtown. You don't have to be a Quaker to attend, but religious diversity is celebrated at Westtown, as well as learning about other religions. As a Muslim, Westtown has supported me tremendously throughout the month of Ramadan. All in all, a wonderful experience. Parent: Our Son was not feeling challenged in the public school,he decided he wanted to go to Wyoming Seminary. This was absolutely the best decision! Our son has thrived. He is being pushed and challenged. As a Senior now, we have complete confidence that he is prepared. There are so many wonderful teachers at SEM. There are so many clubs, sports, and activities, that every student can find something for them. Downside..the security of the school can definitely be better. The security team is wonderful, but updates to the campus and buildings are definitely needed. Cafeteria food is ok, per our son. Again, absolutely would recommend Wyoming Seminary. The Guidance team is fabulous. Freshman year through Senior year, parents and students are guided. Parent: I honestly cannot say enough about Solebury! It was a game changer for my daughter who had a terrible boarding school experience elsewhere her freshman year. The community is extremely welcoming, supportive and encourages inclusivity. The culture is such that there is mutual respect between students and teachers and administrations as well as among the student body (no bullying here). Junior: Attending Perkiomen School has been a tremendous experience. Academically, I’ve had fairly easy access to taking the classes I’ve wanted. Though not incredibly vast, they provide many AP courses (I believe around 30) and honors courses as well. Teachers obviously care about their students, and time for additional help is provided in the daily schedule. Students participate in an after school activity everyday, and must take at least one semester (three per year) of a sport or physical activity. One downside is the obvious preferential treatment that the sports have started to gain in the recent years, however sports as well as the rest of student life has provided many opportunities to socialize and make friends on campus. Junior: I went to Blue Mountain academy since 2019, when I was a sophomore. Now that I am a junior, I can say a lot of things about my experience at BMA. I honestly, can't put it into words, but, I will explain. My experience is the best. The things that they teach here are very important and valuable, especially about our Christian life. The teachers are very loving and kind to the students. Besides the teaching, the food is great and I love that they give us, students, the opportunity to help make the food. It is a blessing! Also, living in the dorms, has helped m to change, to become more socially active and being with people your age, you can learn from each other and discover unbreakable friendships. Senior: I have attended Girard College for all 12 years of my academic career. Overall, I give the experience a four out of five. In the beginning, everything seemed to be going all right but looking back I'm not sure if it was because I was a kid with no worries or expectations. When I entered the high school everything seemed to change. We went from textbooks to an online curriculum and from hundreds of people to as little as 30 people in a grade. There were a lot of adjustments I had to make but in the end, Girard set me up with an above-grade education. I always had all the resources I needed while being in a safe environment behind the walls. Of course, there were minor problems along the way which is why there is one less star but those problems didn't make my whole experience. Senior: Global Vision Christian School is where I got to open up so much opportunities I could not exploit before.
