Southfield Christian represents an amazing community, academic rigor with an emphasis on college readiness, and most importantly a strong foundation in Christ that is used to shape our youth and that guides leadership direction. Parent: After graduating from Plymouth Christian myself, we were very blessed to be in a position to be able to return to Plymouth Christian and send our own kids. Our older daughter graduated last year, we have one remaining, a senior! It has been an such a great experience for us, as parents, that we would not trade. The ability to truly partner with a school, a Christian School, and to watch our kids receive a solid Christian education, preparing for college and an opportunity participate is a successful sports programs as well. Each of our kids have been multi-sport athletes and the gymnasium signage now displays multi-generational records/successes for individuals and teams that play "For Him"! We look forward to somehow staying involved next year, even after each of our kids have graduated. Parent: We have been so blessed that our kids have been able to go to Oakland Christian School! We have been there for 12 years so have been around awhile. We love the small class sizes, the caring teachers, the challenging curriculum, the many activities offered, and especially the Christ centered focus. We have 3 boys so had to have a school that also offered sports. They offer many different sports and are actually pretty competitive. Our oldest graduated from OCS last year and was very well prepared for college. He was prepared both academically and spiritually. You can get good academics at many different schools, but the Christ centered focus taught at Oakland Christian is tough to beat. Senior: I have attended Parkway Christian since I was a Freshman in high school. They made the transition to a new school way easier by having a new student orientation where current students went to it and go to know you. This helped because I went into high school knowing a few kids. I also really enjoy the small class sizes because the teachers can pay closer attention to you and your needs. Also, they keep Christianity at a forefront and tie it into our everyday lives. They offer a variety of honors and AP classes. I am grateful for AP classes because now I am walking into college with credits. The teachers at Parkway truly care for you and would do anything you needed to help. High School Senior: Many of the teachers I have met at this school have inspired me and taught me not only academics, but values as well. This school teaches you to think and apply yourself. I met my best friend at this school. The student body has some groups and kids who are in a Christian school because their parents want them there, but most people are kind and willing to include you. I would choose this school again because it's where I was influenced to think deeply about my faith (or lack thereof at the time), and I have met some amazing people through my time at this school, some of whom are the greatest influences in my life today.... Parent: We came to NCS at a low time in my child's life. My child had had a bad experience at another Christian school with bullying and feelings of low self esteem. We had had some friends who had come from that same school and they shared with us how different NCS is and, after experiencing it ourselves, we wholeheartedly agree. From top down there is a culture of acceptance for the uniqueness of each child and love. Discipline issues are looked at as an opportunity to build a child's character. Ken Storey is a godly man who believes that Christian character and shaping our children to live a life of faith should be the most important values that can be instilled on a child, more so than academics and athletics. But make no mistake, academics are important too. My child feels loved, accepted and that others have their back. Parent: Both of my students attended WWCS from preschool to 8th grade. They both moved to local public schools in 9th grade testing into advanced classes as well as Macomb Mathematics Science and Technology Center! They received an A+ academic education as well as a A+ heart and soul education! They were more than prepared to enter high school able to thrive in their studies.
