Although where the school is and the types of kids that enroll into this K-8 the teachers are always there and has become the support system of the school. With all of the problems that they are faced: being a focus school, and unstable administration, these teachers have been there the whole time for the students. Although a major chunk of the original staff has left; the new staff that consists of teachers and student advisors have done an exceptional job of adjusting.

At Scott Elementary there is a program called "Sun School" were kids come in from 2:30 to 5:30. The variety of classes were huge. There are all kinds of classes that appeal to all age groups from 5 to 13. It was a great experience and the staff are all volunteers so all the participants new that the teachers or leaders who were doing and instructing these classes were because they had a passion, not because there was a pay check at the end of the week.
My overall experience of the school was good. My favorite moments always consisted of teachers and friends. The opportunity of a science fair and being apart of the starbase program was very great. Being that the school is located in a low income area; there were a lot of opportunities that were present.
