This school is unique as it is the only school in Louisiana that can offer single gender education for PK-12 for both boys and girls on the same beautiful campus, and has a boarding school in which our children can make friends and be exposed to cultures around the world. The international exchange program with the many Schools of the Sacred Heart also opens up an opportunity for my children to be able to travel abroad and give them a more global perspective. Besides these unique opportunities, it is hard to put into words the feel of this school. It’s rich, near 200 year history, the pride the boys and girls have in their school and the lifelong bonds they make with their fellow brothers and sisters, and the goals of the Sacred Heart that are deeply instilled in the children and their families, give us all a sense that we are blessed to be a part of this holy place.

I have gone to the Academy of Sacred Heart all of my life, and I feel very prepared compared to my friends that go to various high schools, especially those who attend other college preparatory schools. My parents make the sacrifice to send me here because of the confidence young women can form here, the lack of distractions being in a single gender environment, and the safety of the school. As crazy as the world is today, my parents value my safety and feel that the Academy's rural setting makes them sleep easier at night. I feel a lot of people are intimidated by the price, but the school does offer financial aid and scholarships. Also, our school focuses on developing you as a person, which I think is the most important in such impressionable years (3 to 18). Also, I would like to reiterate that there are two schools: The Academy of the Sacred Heart and Berchmans. I have no knowledge of the boys school, so please do not take my review towards both schools.
I've spent all my life here at Berchmans Academy. Being around my friends has shaped me into a mature boy, and it has helped me shape into an all A student.
The teachers are open minded to helping as well as making class fun!
