When I started looking for kindergarten for my son Nicolas last year, I was so uncertain on where we would go. Lucky me, School of the Madeleine was the first one that I visited and I left so confident that it was the one. After visiting The Madeleine I still checked out a couple more private schools around but those places just made me feel more certain of my choice. A month went by since my son started at The Madeleine and I am so happy to see what a happy boy I drop off every morning. As a new family at the school, I can share that everyone is very warm and welcoming, I met a lot of nice families and Nico has made friends for life. The curriculum is very strong and best of all, I LOVE the values that the school teach. It makes smile every morning after prayer time at the garden when all kids shout together " Let's be good to one another" . What else can you ask for?

We've had a great experience at the School of the Madeleine. The principal has worked hard to ensure that the school is well-managed, technologically up to date, and that teachers have professional development resources they need. Our kids feel cared for and I like that every teacher that has had my kids knows them well and is looking out for them. Spirituality and religion is handled well, especially as this school is in the most progressive city in the state, if not the country. I highly recommend it.
To get into the school, families not only have to complete forms and pay application fees, but must submit the child's latest test scores and grades. If there is room in the appropriate grade, the student must take a test and go through an interview with the school. This school is harder to get into as it accepts families affiliated with the school's church and with current students first, families affiliated with the church second, families with current students but who aren't affiliated with the church, and finally families not affiliated to the church and with no current students. Other than that, the process is straightforward and the school is generally accepting of diversity.
